Meet Jerry Francois

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jerry Francois . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jerry below.

Jerry , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from my mother. I watched her overcome every obstacle and saw how she always hustled and found ways to work around a system that wasn’t made for us, all while being a single mom of two. We struggled, but she was always striving to make ends meet for me and my older brother. Rest in peace, Anna Francois.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My legacy is my focus. As a father to Jaxx, I want to create opportunities for him and his generation. My love for the youth is endless, as they are the ones who will carry the torch when it’s all said and done. Retiring at 45 is my goal, so I can focus on being a father and future husband. I grind hard every day to make my manifestation dream come true. My purpose is to have an impact on a person, place, or thing, and to provide resources for my community, especially POC. I live by the meaning of my titles, not just the title itself. Everything I do is heartfelt, and I strive for excellence. My vision is endless, and I believe that everything I touch will turn into gold. Working with the PYNRS brand is just the beginning. I know the potential, and I know we will win. My ultimate goal is to lead the way for more brands of color to exist in a white sports-dominant industry. That’s my vision, and I will make it happen.
I truly value the importance of having a supportive community that uplifts me when I need it most and keeps me accountable. I am grateful for all of my close friends and day ones whose contributions and unwavering support have been critical to my growth and success as an adult. Consistent and loyal friendships are truly the key to achieving great things.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

As I reflect on my journey, I realize that there were three key qualities that played a significant role in shaping my path. The first one is ambition, which empowered me to persistently pursue everything I desired or believed in, regardless of the challenges that came my way. I applied this tenacity to all aspects of my life, whether it was chasing after the women I truly yearned for, indulging in luxurious experiences, exploring new destinations through travel, seeking higher education, or even pursuing my passion for running.

The second quality that made a difference was dedication. This unwavering commitment allowed me to stay focused and driven towards my goals, even when the going got tough. It kept me grounded and reminded me of the importance of staying true to my values and aspirations, no matter what.

Lastly, resilience was another trait that proved invaluable in my journey. The ability to bounce back from setbacks and failures, and to adapt to changing circumstances with ease, helped me navigate through some of the toughest times of my life. It allowed me to stay positive and optimistic, and to keep moving forward, no matter what obstacles lay ahead.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
The biggest area of growth or improvement in my life is my going back to therapy and finding a new church to call home . I’ve always said a hearing man is the most beautiful man. Because those who take the time to get self-health and heal from trauma are the men who will become better lovers and protectors. So my journey going back helped me heal, understand, and learn so much about myself. Things now I apply to my everyday lifestyle and how I carry myself. No more self-hurting but healing and growyhing to know how j can be better and acknowledge when I am being better. Learning to give myself grace. With all that the last 12 months have been a pursuit of happiness. Allowing all I deserve and being present when it’s all happening. God, therapy, and boundaries have men me wholesome. A circle of 4 and a lover of one.

Growing up Catholic and then converting to Christianity as an early adult I found myself obtaining more structure in being my Christian faith. Buying a Bible the hard copy than only only one that’s made specifically for men. Filled me with up with great spirit to find a new church and when I found that church this year it gave me all the hope I was missing in becoming a better man and walk through this new path I was seeking for. This doesn’t make me a perfect man but again a healing man who willing to find ways to improve and grow in different aspects so I can be a better friend, lover, father , coach, leader and mentor.
