Meet Jess Mueller

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jess Mueller. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jess below.

Jess, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
This question is one that has so many layers! First of all, developing confidence in anything that you do requires trusting yourself. Throughout the course of my life, I’ve been able to jump into new experiences because of that trust. Being able to tell myself daily, “I trust and believe that everything will be fine,” has been so huge for my self-esteem. Secondly, putting aside any doubt or fears of “what ifs.” It sounds silly, but I’ve always said I have the opposite of imposter syndrome! I’ve created a mindset shift where I firmly believe that if I work hard enough at something and forget the outside noise, it’ll happen. What outside noise you ask? Any negative people or voices that try to tell me I can’t do something, or that it’s dumb that I’m trying something. Getting to the point where I truly don’t care what anyone thinks has been such a blessing!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I do so many things and have worn so many hats over the years that I barely know where to start haha! In terms of social media, I started my brand The Minne Blonde in 2018. Using that platform, I was able to get into the influencer world which was so exciting and fun! After becoming a mom of 2, I decided to step away from influencing and give owning a business a try! I owned my own clothing boutique “Minne Co” for 3 years. Again, this experience was incredible and I loved every minute. I’m not one to allow myself to “get bored,” so I jumped into a completely different field about a year ago- acting. This is something I’ve done part-time while raising my babies. For me, being able to balance work and life and fun and learning is EVERYTHING. I want to be able to try everything and learn everything, while also being the best mom, friend, wife, etc, that I can be.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Number one is being able to shut out the “background noise.” Whether it’s people telling you that you can’t do something or your inner voice telling you that you’re not good enough… just shut it out completely.

Number two is that being shameless and sure of yourself can be a good thing! I think, specifically as women, we are taught to lay low and not point too much attention to ourselves. It’s often seen as a negative when we are strong and confident. I’ve found that simply not caring what the world has to say has been the biggest boost for me!

Number three is that taking time to do what makes your soul happy is crucial. Whether that’s reading a good book, spending time with people you love, or even going after a dream.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My parents have always supported me 100% in whatever crazy thing I decide to do. I could tell my dad that I wanted to be a goat trainer, and he would quite literally building me goat houses! I wouldn’t have nearly as much confidence in myself if it wasn’t for them.
