Meet Jessica Alejandro

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jessica Alejandro. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jessica below.

Hi Jessica, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I think this is an interesting question. Most people search for their purpose outside of themselves instead of allowing themselves to go inward. All of the answers that we seek are within us. If you let you allow yourself to follow the breadcrumbs that are laid out before you by God, the universe, spirit, whatever your belief is, then you will see your purpose has been within you all along. I always knew I was going to help people in some way. Like most inner city kids with a dream of success, I wanted to be a doctor initially. I loved children so naturally pediatrician or OB/GYN were the choices, but I ended up not being so good at science, But I was always good at relating and talking to people. Helping them through tough times, even as a small child, was my strength. So I leaned into that. I was good at psychology so I leaned into that. I was good at listening and people loved telling me their life story upon meeting me so I leaned into that and started working in social services and then became a therapist. Those were all the things societal expectations had set me up for but my journey was not done. In fact, it was just beginning. I was catapulted into looking inward due to many life changes and challenges. I went deep within and following the breadcrumbs in a more purposeful way, because before I had been following them based on what my societal life plan had been, now I was following my inner voice and my own intuition. Once I started doing that, my life purpose became clearer than it had ever been. I always knew I was going to help people and allowing that to evolve into what people really need right now, a return to our ancestors and spiritual connection, has allowed me to see and remember the life purpose I signed up for. My point is, it’s a process to allow yourself to see, not find, your life’s purpose. We are all born with one, the problem is that we think it has to be grandiose. We have to be social media famous to find our purpose and our purpose has to be on the world stage or it won’t be good enough. The truth is, your purpose is what your soul signed up for in this lifetime and if you allow yourself to see it, you will find yourself in the flow of life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist with over 26 years of experience working with families, couples and individuals.

I’m also a spiritual coach, teacher, light-worker and conduit to healing.

I stepped fully out of the spiritual closet about 8 years ago. Ever since then my life’s work and purpose became crystal clear.

I have trained and been certified as a Shamanic Reiki Master Teacher, Crystal Dreaming Teacher, Sound Healing/Meditation Practitioner, Spiritual Coach/Teacher, Ancestral Healing Retreat Facilitator.

I help people lean into their awakening and work through the often times, difficult process of a spiritual call, Anchor into their hearts and re-acquaint themselves with their soul, Accept all of their Divine power and emerge as the sensual magnetic being they were born to be, all parts are welcomed and need to be LOVED! Balance and bring together the divine feminine and masculine energies that live within us. I help people connect to their ancestors and support them through healing their ancestral lines.

I do this through psychotherapy and using energy healing modalities. I work with clients in different ways always meeting the client where they are in the moment. I just recently started offering what I call spiritual psychotherapy and coaching where I offer 2 hours sessions, The first hour is more of a traditional psychotherapy session and the second hour we do energy work around the information we just talked about. This type of treatment, unfortunately is not covered by insurance because insurance companies have a hard time paying for a 60 minute session they will not pay for a 2 hour session. The clients I have worked with in this way have improved at a much more rapid rates than clients I have worked with traditional therapy.

Crystal dreaming is one of the modalities that helps healing in a profound way. Here is a description from the Crystal Dreaming website “Lying in a unique mandala of crystals your practitioner will facilitate a gentle shift in your consciousness into an expanded state where your Crystal Dreaming® inner journey occurs. In this enhanced state of awareness. After clearing all energies not totally aligned with unconditional love, it is possible to experience a state of absolute bliss, where profound emotional, physical and spiritual healing may occur. Sessions last up to one and a half hours. Crystal Dreaming™ has brought clarity of purpose to many lives and frequently leads to a blissful reconnection with the Divine.
Crystal Dreaming™ presents you with a golden opportunity to consciously align with your life plan or “blueprint” in service to the Divine and in a state of perfect harmony with the rest of creation. Results of your Crystal Dreaming™ are immediate and permanent and have to be experienced to be believed. I also teach Crystal Dreaming and I am one of 5 or 6 teachers in the United States. So if you are looking for a new healing modality to add to your toolbox reach out to me. I’ll be teaching this class April 5-7th, 2024 in Middlefield, CT. I’ll post this on my website so make sure you take a look.”

Shamanic Reiki is another modality I use to help my clients in their healing. It’s a combination of reiki energy work and shamanic practices, using the elements (earth, air, water, fire) drumming, journeying, cord cutting and many other tools to help clear and re-align the energetic system in the body with the soul and mind. I also teach Shamanic Reiki level 1 & 2 and that information cam also be found on my website.

I also have a Facebook group called Divine Rebels, It’s a group for people who want to find like-minded and like-hearted people, people who are growing and connecting with their higher self, their divine feminine and masculine energies and want to break out of the old ways of being. I also hold monthly sound healing circles at a couple of local yoga studios and wellness centers, called Divine Rebels Sound Healing Circles. There is always a theme for the evening, we set our intentions, I intuitively provide the sound meditation experience, an at the end we pick an oracle card and we all share as a circle to close out the evening. It’s a beautiful space where all are welcomed. I love working in a circle, it creates such wonderful healing energy when we all come together for the same purpose, to heal!

That’s why one of my biggest passions is holding space for groups of like minded and like hearted people during my Ancestral Healing Retreats. I started facilitating day long retreats in 2019. I had two successful retreats and then 2020 happened. My passion for this work was so deep that I picked right back up in 2022 with another successful day log retreat and then in 2023 started facilitating weekend long retreats with the help of Copper Beech Institute in West Hartford. CT and The Rowe Camp and Conference Center in Rowe, MA. I have a few retreats at Copper Beech Institute. In February I’ll be doing a couples retreat and in May I’ll be doing an Ancestral Healing Retreat focusing on the mother wound. You can find the information on their website Copperbeechinstitute, org. In October (10/4-10/6) I will be doing this same Ancestral Healing Retreat focusing on the mother wound at Rowe Camp and Conference Center in Rowe, MA. In 2025 I will be having my first international retreat in Costa Rica, stay tuned for those details and I’m currently working on a new retreat program exclusively for women who have birthed in non-traditional ways.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
There have been many, but the top three main qualities or skills that have become areas of knowledge for me and have allowed me to walk this healing journey and help others walk theirs are: allowing myself to go inward and love ALL parts of me , releasing expectations of outcomes and mostly of others and surrendering-releasing the illusion of control so you can get out your own way and see your life purpose.

One good thing that the pandemic gave us was time to slow down, pause and go inward. We were meant to go inward and deal with our personal grief, whatever that looked like for you, learn how to be with ourselves fully in order to accept and love all parts of us, especially the most annoying and horrible ones. Many people took advantage of this time and did exactly that. They went inward and started to awaken to a new way of being. A softer, less patriarchal way of being. What worked for them before no longer worked. Many people ended or shifted careers, ended or started relationships, started living more sustainably and started going out in nature more. Going inward and loving all parts of me is a daily practice and one of the best practices we all need to adopt. This is one of the biggest steps in true self love and permanent healing.

Releasing expectations is one of the most important choices I’ve made for myself. It has allowed so much peace into my energetic body and has fully released the anger and disappointment that comes with having expectations of others. When we have expectations, we are making an assumption that people are going to behave or react the way we would in a circumstance or situation and that is such a set up. Those people we put these expectations on, are usually the people who will not react or behave as we would. An expectation is like making a wish when you don’t believe in magic, you believe it won’t happen, but you make the wish anyway and then are disappointed.

Surrendering, one of the hardest practices or skills I work on daily and not always well. To be honest I think only people like the Dalai Lama or Jesus have mastered this skill, but it is necessary for peace of mind, body and connection to soul. When we surrender we release the illusion of control and so many of us are miserable in our lives because we think we can control outcomes and people and that is just simply not true. Surrender is what can bring you inner peace and joy so why is it so hard? To surrender would go against all of what society and the patriarchy has told us is right. In society, surrendering is seen as weakness, laziness or giving up and in fact just like vulnerability, it’s none of these things. It’s a sign of strength, trust and faith in yourself, your higher power and your purpose. So, try it and see how it feels. It will be uncomfortable and weird at first but then you will see how much freer you’ll feel.

How would you describe your ideal client?
This is a question that I’ve contemplated so many times, primarily when working with business coaches in the past. Frankly it’s a question I don’t enjoy but it’s a necessary one to be clear on and one that takes time to develop confidently. When I first started my business I was just happy to have clients, but I found myself working harder than some of my clients sometimes. One of the main tips I learned in graduate school was if you’re working harder than your clients they are not working. It also means that is not the client for me. My clients come to me because they are ready to do the deep inner work. They are ready to feel their feelings and discover who they really are and honor who they have been. They are interested in working on becoming connected to their higher self even if they don’t know it yet. They are willing to explore their masculine and feminine energies. They most likely have anxiety and depression because they are highly sensitive of empathic but are unaware that this is a thing or they are aware and don’t know how to harness these energies. They have been receiving nudges, dreams, messages and signs that it’s time to explore something bigger and that they don’t have to continue to live in a way that does not work for them. My clients often times are empaths, lightworkers, sensitives that don’t know it yet, but are feeling a pull towards doing their inner work. My clients are of all ages, sizes, gender and race. They have heard the call and are ready, even if they don’t know it, to do their inner work so they can help do the outer work with the collective, on whichever way feels aligned.
