Meet Jessica Fields

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jessica Fields a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jessica, thrilled to have you on the platform as I think our readers can really benefit from your insights and experiences. In particular, we’d love to hear about how you think about burnout, avoiding or overcoming burnout, etc.

As a creative and ambitious person, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of chasing big goals and dreams. Burnout is something I work hard to avoid because, in addition to showing up for my own business, I have a responsibility to my clients and my team too.

First things first, setting clear boundaries and managing my time is non-negotiable. Time-blocking my calendar has been a total game-changer, allowing me to juggle work, personal time, travel, and rest without losing my mind. As someone who’s a bit type-A, this structure helps me stay on top of everything and keeps stress levels in check. I know exactly what’s getting done and when.

Another major key to staying sane? D-e-l-e-g-a-t-e! When I’m able to offload tasks and get help where I need it, everything becomes more manageable—and suddenly, I have more time in the day than I thought.

I also remind myself to slow down and enjoy the process. I know, it’s a bit cliche, but “Rome wasn’t built in a day” for a reason. Taking the time to do things right today means I’ll thank myself tomorrow. It’s all about balance—avoiding the trap of running on empty while trying to do everything perfectly.

And finally, my secret weapon: always having a trip on the horizon! Whether it’s travel or something else that excites me, it’s so important to have something to look forward to. If you’re worried about falling behind while taking time off, trust me—you and your team will figure it out. That downtime is key to staying energized and avoiding burnout in the long run.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Hey, I’m Jessica, the Founder & CEO of Harbor 26 Studio. What started as a side hustle after years in corporate marketing has grown into a team of creatives who are passionate about both strategy and creativity. We’ve helped countless businesses not just grow, but thrive, in ways they didn’t even expect.

I always knew I’d start my own business, but the timing wasn’t clear. Throughout college, I freelanced, and when I entered the corporate world, I kept that hustle going. I was strategic about my career because I saw corporate as a way to fast-track my knowledge and skills in operations, branding, marketing, and team building—everything I needed to eventually launch my own business. It was my version of an internship, just a little longer than most!

Working with both global brands and startups taught me that no one has it all figured out, which was a huge breakthrough for me. It gave me the confidence to leave the corporate world and turn my freelancing into an agency—thus, Harbor 26 Studio was born.

At Harbor 26 Studio, we’re all about helping ambitious brands break through with captivating, custom marketing. We don’t rely on generic Canva templates—because we can spot them from a mile away, and they’re actually doing more harm than good to your brand. Instead, we guide each client through a creative direction phase, ensuring that their content is as unique as their business. No one-size-fits-all strategies here either!

Our goal as a full-service agency is simple: to make life easier for business owners like you. From strategy and content creation to everything in between, we handle it all. Plus, our extensive network of connections ensures that your brand is always in good hands.

We’re obsessed with telling your story in a way that resonates and sets you apart from the competition. If you’re ready to elevate your brand and make waves, let’s connect—we’d love to help bring your vision to life.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are strategic thinking, creativity, and resilience.

Strategic thinking was essential from the start. I used my time in corporate to build a solid foundation in branding and marketing, always with the long-term goal in mind. My advice: take your time and don’t rush. Every experience contributes to your bigger picture.

Creativity has been at the core of what we do at Harbor 26 Studio. Stay curious, take risks, and think outside the box. Authenticity is key—your brand’s story should always feel true to you.

Lastly, resilience has been crucial. The journey isn’t always linear, but learning from setbacks and staying adaptable is what keeps you moving forward. My advice: embrace failure as part of the process, and don’t let it stop you.

Bonus tip: keep your blinders on. Don’t compare your journey to others. Everyone’s path is different—just focus on what’s best for you.

How would you describe your ideal client?

Our ideal client is someone who understands the power of social media and its role in driving their business forward. They recognize that social media isn’t just a platform for posting—it’s a tool to connect with their audience, tell their story, and ultimately grow their brand.

They either have strong branding and creative assets in place or are ready to invest in building them with us. We believe that great content starts with a solid foundation, and having the right assets makes all the difference in delivering a consistent, professional, and authentic brand presence.

What really sets the ideal client apart is their forward-thinking mindset. They trust us as experts not just in social media strategy, but in helping them achieve their broader business goals. We’re looking for clients who want to build long-term relationships, not quick fixes.

Our goal is to work with businesses that are committed to sustainable growth and see the value in a holistic approach, where every piece of their marketing works together to support their bigger vision. If they’re open to collaboration, innovation, and growth, they’re the perfect fit for us!
