Meet Jessica Gabriel

We were lucky to catch up with Jessica Gabriel recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jessica , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my purpose through a journey of brokenness, surrender, and revelation. It wasn’t something I discovered overnight—it was something God revealed to me as I walked through some of the darkest and most challenging seasons of my life.

1. My Pain Led Me to My Purpose
For years, I battled low self-esteem, toxic relationships, anxiety, addiction, and feelings of unworthiness. I was searching for validation in all the wrong places, and no matter how much I tried to fill the void, nothing satisfied me. I hit rock bottom, and in that place of desperation, I cried out to God like never before.

It was in my brokenness that I encountered His unconditional love, healing, and grace. God showed me that I wasn’t defined by my past or my mistakes—I was His daughter, chosen and set apart. I realized that all the pain I had endured wasn’t meant to break me—it was meant to shape me for something greater.

2. I Surrendered & Allowed God to Lead Me
Once I understood that my identity was in Christ, I stopped trying to control everything and fully surrendered my life to God. I let go of unhealthy relationships, destructive habits, and anything that didn’t align with His will for me. I asked Him, “Lord, why have You saved me? What do You want me to do?” And He began to reveal my purpose step by step.

He placed a deep desire in my heart to help other women heal and walk boldly in their God-given identity—because I knew what it was like to feel lost, broken, and unworthy. I realized that my testimony wasn’t just for me—it was meant to set others free.

3. I Took Action in Faith
Once I knew my purpose, I didn’t wait until I had everything figured out—I stepped out in faith. I started mentoring, coaching, and speaking life into other women. I began writing, sharing my testimony, and creating The Divine Women Institute—a ministry and movement dedicated to empowering women to rise from adversity and step into their divine calling.

Every time I took a step forward, God opened new doors. I co-authored and published books, launched coaching programs, created The Divine Women Podcast, and started leading women through faith-driven transformation. The more I aligned with God’s calling, the more my purpose became clear.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Hello, Beautiful Women of God! My name is Jessica Gabriel, most people know me as GourJess, and I’m a transformational Author, Motivational speaker, and Women’s Empowerment Coach. My passion is helping women heal, reclaim their God-given identity, and step boldly into their divine purpose. I guide women in overcoming challenges like low self-esteem, anxiety, substance abuse, and toxic relationships—struggles I have personally conquered through God’s grace. My mission is to empower women to rise from adversity, embrace their worth, and walk confidently in their royal identity as daughters of the King.

What’s Special About My Work?
What excites me the most is witnessing women experience true transformation—watching them break free from limiting beliefs, heal from past wounds, and step into their God-given destiny. I don’t just share motivation; I lead with faith and practical strategies rooted in God’s Word. My brand isn’t about temporary fixes—it’s about deep, lasting change that allows women to walk in their power, purpose, and divine authority.

I recently co-authored and published a book titled, Becoming An Unstoppable Woman In Faith, where I shared my personal testimony and transformative journey of how I overcame deep struggles—battles with low self-worth, crippling anxiety, toxic relationships, addiction, and the pain of feeling lost and unworthy—by calling out to God and discovering my God-given identity in Christ. I know what it’s like to feel broken, rejected, and unsure of my purpose, but through God’s grace, I found healing, restoration, and the courage to rise into the woman He created me to be. This revelation not only set me free but also gave birth to my business and ministry, The Divine Women Institute. Through this book, I pray that women will be inspired to seek God wholeheartedly, embrace their divine identity, and step into the fullness of who He created them to be.

What’s New?
I’m excited to announce my 30-Day live Series, Crowned in Purpose: A Practical Guide to Walking in Your Royal Identity. This empowering series will help women overcome struggles like self-doubt, depression, and toxic cycles by discovering their divine identity in Christ. Each session will be filled with biblical wisdom, actionable steps, and personal insights to equip women to step boldly into their calling.

I’m also honored to be writing a chapter in Becoming an Unstoppable Woman: Rise of the Phoenix, where I’ll be sharing my personal testimony on how suffering, like or with Jesus, leads to spiritual growth and enlightenment.

Additionally, I’m expanding my ministry, The Divine Women Institute, where I offer coaching, mentorship, and faith-driven programs to support women in their healing and purpose journey. I am also launching The Divine Women Podcast, a space where I’ll share faith-filled encouragement, biblical wisdom, and real conversations to uplift and empower women on their journey of healing, purpose, and identity in Christ.

Daughter of the King, if you’re ready to reclaim your worth, break free from your past, and step into everything God has for you, I invite you to connect with me on this journey! You were made for more, and your time is now!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back on my journey, the three qualities that have been most impactful in my transformation and success are: faith, resilience, and self-awareness. These qualities shaped me into the woman I am today and continue to guide me as I empower others.

1. Faith – Trusting God’s Plan Over My Own
Faith is the foundation of everything I do. When I was lost, broken, and unsure of my purpose, it was my faith in God that anchored me. Through prayer, fasting, and studying His Word, I learned to surrender my struggles and trust that His plans for me were greater than my own.

Advice:
If you’re in the early stages of your journey, cultivate an intimate relationship with God. Read His Word daily, seek His presence through prayer, and surround yourself with a faith-driven community. When you trust God completely, He will guide your steps and equip you with everything you need to walk in your divine calling.

2. Resilience – Overcoming Obstacles with Grace
I have faced countless obstacles—battles with low self-esteem, toxic relationships, addiction, and moments of feeling unworthy. But through God’s strength, I developed resilience. Instead of allowing the fire (pain) to consume me, I let it refine me. I learned that setbacks are setups for something greater, and every challenge carries a lesson.

Advice:
When you face adversity, don’t let it define you—let it refine you. Strengthen your resilience by shifting your perspective: Instead of asking, Why is this happening to me? ask, What is God teaching me through this? Journal your experiences, find mentors who uplift you, and remember that every trial is preparing you for a testimony.

3. Self-Awareness – Knowing Who You Are in Christ
Before I fully stepped into my purpose, I had to unlearn the lies I believed about myself and embrace my God-given identity. I realized that my worth wasn’t tied to my past, my mistakes, or what the world said about me—my worth was established by God before I was even born. When I embraced this truth, I stopped settling for less than what I deserved and started walking boldly in my purpose.

Advice:
Take the time to see and know yourself through God’s lens. Ask yourself:

What limiting beliefs am I holding onto that are not from God?
What gifts and strengths has He placed within me?
What is my purpose in this season?
Spend time in His presence, study Scriptures about identity, and affirm the truth over yourself daily. The more you align with who God says you are, the more confidence and clarity you will have in your purpose.

Final Encouragement
If you’re just starting your journey, don’t rush the process. Growth takes time, healing takes intentionality, and stepping into your purpose requires obedience. Trust that God is working behind the scenes, preparing you for something far greater than you can imagine. Keep seeking Him, keep showing up, and know that you are already equipped with everything you need to become unstoppable in faith and purpose.

Daughter of the King, your time is now! Keep pressing forward, because your story is meant to inspire and empower others and we can do it together through the Divine Women Institute💜✨
