Meet Jessica Hopkins

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jessica Hopkins a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jessica, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I developed my work ethic from watching my parents lead by example. Both were incredibly hardworking and, in their own ways, perfectionists. My dad worked the same job for over 35 years, often through the night as a truck driver, showing unwavering dedication and consistency—even when it meant missing family activities to rest during the day. My mom balanced everything else with grace and excellence, managing our home and family with remarkable strength. Growing up, I naturally adopted those values—making my bed every morning, keeping my room spotless, excelling in school, and pushing myself in sports. That foundation shaped who I am today: someone who works hard, takes pride in what I have, and cares deeply for my home, my health, and the life I’ve built. In my family, we don’t complain—we roll up our sleeves, get it done, and take pride in doing it well. It’s simply how I was raised.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m a full-time lifestyle content creator, and my work really reflects all the things I love most—home décor, travel, fashion, beauty, health, and wellness. Over the past six years, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with some amazing brands, including Target, Lowe’s, Wayfair, and Expedia Cruises. What I love most about this career is the freedom to create content that feels authentic to me and the flexibility to partner only with brands that truly align with my personal style and values.

No two days are ever the same, and that’s what keeps it exciting. While I enjoy sharing all aspects of lifestyle content, home décor and travel have a special place in my heart. I’m especially looking forward to expanding more into travel—something that’s always been a passion of mine. I have a few upcoming collaborations that include hosted stays at local getaways, and I can’t wait to capture and share those experiences alongside my husband. For me, it’s all about inspiring others to explore, try new things, and find beauty in both the everyday moments and the adventures along the way.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, I’d say three qualities have really shaped my journey: courage, consistency, and confidence. First, not being afraid to just go for it—and not worrying about what other people think—was huge for me. I started by sharing things I genuinely enjoyed, and that authenticity really connected with others. Second, consistency is everything. Posting regularly and showing up even when growth feels slow helps attract brands who recognize your effort and commitment. And third, putting yourself out there—pitching to brands you might think are out of reach—is so important. You never know what opportunities could come from it, and even hearing “no” can be valuable. Every pitch is practice, and those rejections only motivate me to keep pushing forward.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

Over the past year, my biggest area of growth has definitely been learning to put myself out there more and actively go after what I want. I’ve become much more intentional about pitching and reaching out to potential partners that align with the direction I want to take my brand. Since I’ve been working toward expanding more into the travel niche, I even reworked my entire media kit to reflect that shift and started connecting with travel-focused destinations and companies. It’s been such a rewarding process because it’s pushed me outside my comfort zone and shown me the value of being proactive. Instead of waiting for opportunities to come to me, I’ve learned that sometimes you have to create them yourself—and that mindset has made all the difference.
