Jessica, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.
I have to remind myself of what I actually have control over. That I have no control over others’ reactions, thoughts, and feelings. I only have control of myself and what I do. It took a lot of practice to get here and it still is a struggle some days. I’m not going to say the negativity doesn’t bother me because it does but I allow myself to feel my feelings and then make sure to move on from there.

I’m a hairstylist at Icon Hair in North Scottsdale. I specialize in hair extensions, blonding, and dimensional color. I manage the social media for the salon and have found passion within social media content and creating beautiful hair. I love helping stylists learn more about utilizing social media as a tool and am looking to begin educating this year!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Self Awareness. Always Learning. Perseverance.
Work with a coach or mentor. I work with Tammy Feltner and she has helped me with all of these qualities. Working with someone is important because you might know what you need or want but having someone help you execute it or create a plan is important to actually achieving your goals.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
I love doing big transformations. Whether it’s a beauty embracing her naturally graying hair or someone who needs some extra inches as they grow out their hair. I’m all about solutions to help you get to your hair goals. It might just be hair but that’s the crown you were born with and wear everyday and I’m here to make sure it’s shining all the time.
