We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jessica Ward. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jessica below.
I developed my confidence by seeking knowledge from reputable sources and people who have been where I’d like to be. I’ve put in countless hours studying and researching to ensure that I bring value to my clients. I also took time to grow on my own personal spiritual journey. This has helped me to develop resilience, self love, and the ultimate acceptance of self at my core. I don’t look to other humans for acceptance and validation. I also don’t feel bad if others don’t accept or acknowledge me, I understand that many struggle to provide that for themselves so their opinions could never avert me from my path. I look in the mirror and see soul deep beauty, not things I’d change about myself. I know that the knowledge I’ve obtained has changed the trajectory of many lives I’ve come in contact with.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As a former dancer and athlete in my younger years, I’ve always known the importance of injury prevention, flexibility and mobility.
After several years of personal training and teaching group fitness classes, i noticed how much people needed to be taught the proper ways to move and use the body to ensure longevity on their fitness journeys. I also work with clients recovering from injury or surgery to navigate safely back to optimal movement.
I am dedicated to helping others improve their quality of life through Stretch Therapy. The experience is truly life changing.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’d say you need to develop humility, empathy, and a healthy ego.
Humility to understand that you don’t know everything and there’s always something you could learn–from anybody! Being humble and open to new experiences will take you further than you could imagine. Knowledge is the most power tool in the human experience.
Empathy to put yourself in others’ shoes and identifying with their experiences. Imagine how you would feel if you were in their reality. The world is in severe lack of this, and being empathetic has the power to bring positive change to others.
And lastly, a healthy ego. You need this for true confidence and universal reciprocity. This contributes to you getting what you deserve while helping others. Ensuring your personal happiness and well-being while being a resource to others is a beautiful synergy created from knowing your worth and knowing that you deserve to be properly compensated and invited to the best rooms and circles. Like the saying goes–” You can’t pour from an empty cup”. I used to think that over giving and willingly sacrificing parts of myself to my detriment was honorable. It’s not. Self care and self esteem is important so that you’re energized to help others.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
God deserves the credit, simply put. He’s carried me through hard times and placed special people on my path to help me along my journey. I’m so vocal about my faith because it truly is my fuel for life.
I also give myself credit for doing the hard work when no one’s watching and staying steadfast even when others around me didn’t believe in me or what I’m doing with my life.
Lastly, my husband, who has been my greatest supporter and teammate. He’s really taught me what true love and partnership really is.
