Meet Jessie Fernández

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jessie Fernández . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jessie, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

As a marketer and college professor, I keep my creativity strong through a few key tactics. First, I stay curious, always diving into new subjects to learn and asking many questions. This helps me come up with fresh ideas for my marketing work and teaching. Additionally, I ensure I keep up with trends in the marketing world and connect with other professionals in the field. Conversations with different people provide new perspectives and spark innovative ideas. By doing all this, I ensure my marketing and teaching remain full of creative energy.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My name is Jessie Fernández, I live in Honduras and I am a Marketing Project Manager at Social Revolt Agency. I work with various brands developing and executing marketing campaigns online and offline to help them reach their goals.

Alongside managing projects, I offer marketing coaching for small businesses across Latin America and teach marketing to undergraduates at a local college.

I have an extensive background in marketing and I’ve worked in several industries including television and publishing. For the last few years, I’ve focused on digital marketing helping brands that are struggling to stand out. Through coaching, I assist companies facing challenges. As a marketing professor, I enjoy sharing my expertise with the next generation of marketers in my country.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Try something new!
I’ve discovered talents and capabilities I never knew I had simply by stepping outside my comfort zone and exploring different avenues.

2. Make mistakes!
This has been part of my learning process. Each misstep has provided an opportunity for growth and improvement. We must embrace failure as a natural part of the journey to refine our skills.

3. Adapt to change!
This is essential in navigating the ever-evolving marketing landscape. Being flexible and open-minded has been key to staying ahead.

4. Networking!
Building relationships with peers, mentors, and industry leaders has provided me of invaluable support and guidance along the way.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I prioritize taking a break.

In the fast-paced world of marketing, it’s easy to push ourselves too hard with numerous tasks demanding attention simultaneously. However, I’ve learned that pushing through overwhelm doesn’t give the best results. Instead, I step back, take a breather, and put my well-being first. This might involve going for a walk, practicing mindfulness, or simply disconnecting for a short while. By allowing myself time to recharge, I can return with a clearer mind and renewed energy to tackle tasks effectively.

Remember, your best work comes when you prioritize your well-being.
