Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jessie Tunis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jessie, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

My work ethic comes from seeing some members of my family living paycheck to paycheck heck and barely getting by. My mom was disabled, which lead to us living with my grandma and her taking care of everything for us when I was growing up.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I own a body waxing business! I always get so excited when I see how happy my clients are with their results. With this type of career I truly feel like it’s all about making my clients feel special and I love building those relationships with them. It’s definitely my favorite part of having my own little shop.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I definitely think my drive was super impactful. I needed to push myself to make this next step in my career. I knew I didn’t want to work for someone else my whole life. My advice to others is to always find ways to learn and grow! Whatever your goal is, do anything you can to learn the best ways to reach it and never stop!

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

My biggest challenge right now is filling my books with clients. When it comes to body waxing, the colder months tend to slow down a bit. I’m just focusing on my marketing and putting myself out there so potential clients will notice me and make an appointment!
