Meet Jesslyn Course

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jesslyn Course a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jesslyn , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

For me, overcoming imposter syndrome wasn’t about doubting my abilities — it was about learning to expand into bigger rooms without shrinking myself. I’ve always been confident in my work, but stepping into new opportunities sometimes made me feel like I had to ‘tone down’ my personality, my ambition, or the level of excellence I expect from myself.

What helped me overcome that was reminding myself that I earned every space I’m in through hard work, results, and consistency. Instead of questioning my place, I started owning it. I leaned into my strengths, trusted my training, and allowed my personality and professionalism to speak for me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m the owner of Vanity Aesthetic Studio, where I specialize in results-driven skincare and luxury self-care experiences. What makes my brand special is the focus on confidence — helping clients not only improve their skin, but feel good about themselves.

I’m also a mom of two, so growing my business goes hand-in-hand with growing my family and creating the life I want for us. I’m expanding my services, elevating my treatments, and introducing new offerings soon, and I’m excited for everyone to see what’s coming next for Vanity Aesthetic Studio.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

For me, the three qualities that made the biggest impact in my journey were consistency, confidence, and a willingness to learn. Consistency helped me build trust with clients and grow my business steadily. Confidence allowed me to show up fully as myself and stand behind the results I deliver. And staying open to learning — whether through trainings, mentorship, or hands-on experience — helped me constantly elevate my skills.

My advice for anyone starting out is this: be consistent even on the slow days, build your confidence by actually practicing your craft, and never stop learning. When you combine those three things, your growth becomes inevitable.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

One book that played a major role in my development is “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy. It taught me how powerful our thoughts and beliefs really are, and how much control we have over the life and opportunities we create. The biggest takeaway for me was that your internal world shapes your external world — once you change the way you think, you change what you attract.

That mindset shift helped me grow as a business owner, a mom, and a woman. It reminded me that I can create the life I want with intention, discipline, and belief in myself.
