Meet Jesus Luviano

We were lucky to catch up with Jesus Luviano recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jesus, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from a foundation of values centered on perseverance, discipline, and community. Early experiences taught me that challenges are opportunities to grow, and that consistency in hard work is what creates long-term results. I’ve carried those lessons throughout my career, applying them to every stage—from performing as a dancer to producing large-scale events. Each obstacle has been a chance to refine my character and strengthen my determination. Resilience, for me, is about turning setbacks into momentum and using every challenge as a stepping stone toward greater goals.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a Mexican-American producer, choreographer, and former pre-professional dancer whose career bridges the worlds of fashion, film, television, music, and dance. My work focuses on integrating Latin culture into international platforms, with collaborations spanning Metropolitan Fashion Week, Cirque du Soleil, and other large-scale productions.

I began my artistic journey in dance, training in ballet, modern, jazz, ballroom, and folkloric traditions before transitioning into event production. Over the years, I’ve collaborated with leading designers, produced innovative fashion shows, and contributed to high-profile television and film productions, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The New York Film Academy. My experience in live entertainment also includes overseeing concerts and productions at the historic Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, where I had the opportunity to work on shows featuring some of the world’s most celebrated performers.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural representation. I strive to create spaces where voices from all backgrounds are celebrated and where entertainment continues to evolve into a more global and inclusive industry.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
  • Perseverance: Staying committed despite setbacks has been the driving force of my career. My advice is to treat challenges as lessons and not deterrents. Success comes from persistence.
  • Cultural Integration: Embracing my heritage has given my work authenticity and distinction. I encourage others to lean into their individuality and unique perspective; it’s what makes your contribution irreplaceable.
  • Adaptability: Moving between dance, television, and fashion taught me the importance of versatility. For those starting out, being open to learning new skills and exploring different roles will create unexpected opportunities and keep you ahead in evolving industries.

These three qualities, perseverance, authenticity, and adaptability, have been my compass, and I believe they are essential for anyone building a sustainable career.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I’m always interested in collaborating with creative professionals across the fashion and entertainment industries: designers, stylists, models, makeup and hair artists, set and lighting designers, publicists, talent managers, and public relations professionals. Anyone who shares a passion for innovation and cultural storytelling is someone I’d love to connect with. Collaborations are what push creative industries forward, and I welcome opportunities to build something impactful together.
