We recently connected with Jewels De Hoyos and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jewels, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
Much of my optimism comes from challenging the limitations we’ve been conditioned to accept as normal. I take great joy in continuously redefining myself and my life in every possible way. I like to imagine life as a sitcom where each of us get to play the main character in our own life. My partner is also a significant source of inspiration, consistently encouraging me to practice optimism in all situations.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
For almost four years, I’ve been capturing auras, and what stands out to me is how each portrait is truly special and unique to the individual. Aura photography offers us the gift of seeing ourselves on a metaphysical level. In a world where we often critique ourselves and may not always speak kindly to ourselves, seeing the energy of our soul can be a powerful reminder of just how magical we truly are. I often meet clients at Mala Market inside of my info, ous yurt. Mala Market is a nonprofit collective showcasing some of the most incredible local small businesses. If you haven’t had the chance to stop by, I highly encourage you to visit. It’s a vibrant space full of creativity, community, and unique offerings you won’t find anywhere else.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Having the courage to actually act on an idea
2. Online Networking
3. Resilience
My advice would be to not be discouraged to walk the path not many have walked before you, the social norms don’t have to be your norm! Like Tony Soprano said, “Don’t let anyone ever make you feel like you don’t have options.”
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza. I really enjoy his s wisdom and insight on quantum healing and meditation. This book sheds on how our subconscious mind works, revealing how we often create obstacles for ourselves and how to effectively reprogram these patterns. His work has the potential to transform your life if you commit to doing your part.
