We were lucky to catch up with Jill Nadine Clements recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jill Nadine, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found the purpose of my company is to make people feel better, put a smile on their faces. When wearing Nadina’s Cremes you have better skin and smell good, completes are endless! Nadina’s Cremes is an avenue to educate for environmental cause through the purchase of Nadina’s Cremes. By traveling and sharing Nadina’s Cremes mission helps encourage younger people to believe in their Dreams! Knowing the environment needs help that creates purpose to create a company that could help in many ways.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I had a dream wanting to be in the Renaissance Faire’s when i was very young and those doors opened for me. I traveled selling Crème’s there. Customers wanted me to put the Crème’s into stores so they did not have to wait a year to get them. Hence in 1989 Nadina’s Cremes was born: a scented body cream with simple, pure ingredients, scented or unscented used for endless purposes. Uniquely packaged in beautiful handmade pottery jars for over 36 years. The company has given me an avenue to educate on social & environmental issues to millions not just being in a class room. We have employed Develop Mentally Challenged since the beginning, chose ceramic over plastic educated on the lose of our Rain Forest and many other environmental causes. Throughout my journey Bob Dylan has received our cremes, Paul Simon came to meet me in NYC while selling at the Jacob Javits Center (he loved the story in the brochures), Sarah MacLachlan found Nadina’s Cremes in Hawaii at a store and asked us to travel her Lilith Faire with her band. Second year of the tour she had us make a custom scent for her to sell in her. booth with her music, etc.
She also donated $20,000 of the Nadina’s Cremes to battered women’s shelters…, Dolly Parton sold them at her Ranch gift store. A Sales rep on North Shore O’ahu shares our products with Jack Johnson.
My Dream came true to Reforest the Sandalwood Forest on Big Island Hawai’i 12 years ago and i have personally planted over 3,000 trees myself and still gathering seeds to be propagated and trees shared island wide.
The creme is super rich and concentrated and guarantees complements.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
perseverance! persistence, reaching out to help others.
Believe in your Dreams! a miracle that i said i would one day Reforest the Sandalwood (Iliahi) Forest and the dream came true.
help others and don’t fear asking for help.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Nadina’s Cremes has been a beautiful journey, so much established and i would love to pass the torch to the right person. 36 years, millions have enjoyed Nadina’s Cremes all over the world. we are well established throughout the Hawaiian islands and i would love someone to take the torch and run to continue the mission. Putting Nadina’s Cremes on and feeling good!
