Meet Jillian Spencer

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jillian Spencer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jillian, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I think a lot of it come from taking my failures and growing from them. If I were to give up, success would never follow. Confidence and self esteem stem from growth, community support, most importantly praying about my businesses.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

After I got married and before having kids it was made apparent to me that I wanted to stay home with my future family and also help provide financially. This lead me to pursue a life long passion of mine, photography! While I started out a while ago I have really come into my own as the kids are growing up and in school full time. This past year o was able to expand my business from not only outdoors and on site to a store front studio in my town on Main St.
I love getting to know my clients and their families, seeing how they operate, and getting to know their personalities.
From maternity, to newborn, milestone, school portraits, graduation, etc. Part of what makes me different is that I walk along side them as they grow.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three things that impacted my journey was:
Continued education, networking, and not being afraid of failure.
I would advice those on the beginning of their journey to try new things and don’t be afraid to pivot if something isn’t working.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

Standing out in a saturated market can be challenging. To overcome these struggles I am looking to create an experience rather than just photos. Using my studio to host other small businesses, give back to the community, and provide excellent customer service are high on my priority list.
