Meet Jillian Williams

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jillian Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jillian, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

There is a saying in the Christian community: “Jesus will meet you where you are”. This saying depicts how Jesus will reach us and saves us at some of our lowest points. At rock-bottom, He often shows up and reveals His love to us.
I can attest to this, because Jesus met me in a dungeon. I was in jail.
Due to trauma wounds inflicted upon me in various stages of my early life, I found myself going on downward spiral that eventually led me to being incarcerated. As upset as I was then, I can now look back and say that God was very intentional about getting my attention. It was while labeled an inmate, that I sat still long enough to respond to God’s call. I say respond, because I had heard the call long before at several moments, yet I didn’t properly respond. So now I was in a position to listen and respond with “yes”. My “yes” to Jesus, changed my life forever.
Although Jesus forgave me of my sins, and my troubled past, the majority of society did not. Particularly employers and housing managers. Due to my criminal background, I could hardly find work, and when I did it was backbreaking labor with minimum wage pay. Once I was blessed with a job earning a livable wage, it was hard to find an apartment that would accept my background. Once, I was blessed with a decent apartment, I was being overcharged. The journey of reformation was a tough on. It was the grace of God paired with His gift of determination within me that enabled me to make it through.
God eventually led me to entrepreneurship. The goal is to use my business as a resource to combat the battles that I faced as recently released convicted felon. We aim to use business opportunities to create employment for disenfranchised citizens, offering them a fresh start towards success and contributing to the betterment of the community. We also want to develop a housing community for the underprivileged.
Our vision is to merge marketplace and ministry, creating more than business ventures, but also purpose.
So to answer the question plainly, I found my purpose through my own pain redeemed by God’s grace.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I currently own a business that specializes in freight dispatch, and government contracting as a procurement vendor.
Our mission at Revival Trucking & Transports LLC is to conduct business with unwavering integrity. We are committed to supporting the community by utilizing our resources effectively and creating opportunities for advancement. We believe that by upholding these values, we can make a positive impact on the community and foster sustainable growth.

I am also a ministry leader as the Founding Director of Jillian Williams Ministries. My passion is to reach the unchurched, and to bring them to Jesus for an abundant life.

Currently, I am the author of one published book entitled, “The Beginning of the Becoming”. Book number two is in the works.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Faith in Jesus
Perseverance
Love

My advice to anyone just starting their journey is: Do not be wavered from your destiny due to the obstacles on your way to get there. Anchor yourself in faith that God will carry you through.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

Of course, I will say that the Holy Bible is my best book for wisdom. I also was privileged to come across a book named “The Wild Ones.” This book helped me to understand that I wasn’t alone in my calling or my walk. Its a great guide.
