Meet Jimmy Sorrells

We were lucky to catch up with Jimmy Sorrells recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jimmy, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.

I love helping people to grow as a person and in their business. This come from being a follower of Jesus and doing what he teaches.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I run an in-person networking organization that connects Patriot entrepreneurs and professional salespeople who value liberty and operate with integrity.
Our Core Values are Liberty & Integrity and our Core Focus is Building authentic, long-term relationships.
We grow businesses through strong connections. Each of our multiple chapters meets bi-weekly and holds one seat per industry, allowing members to truly support one another. We also host fun social events that give back to local non-profits called Networking For A Cause.

I am most excited about helping people grow their sales and business with like-minded people. I know helps the economy, their business, and ultimately has a impact on their families.

We are currently serving North & South Carolina — and expanding! We have chapters in 4 regions with new chapters forming in Charleston, SC, Fountain Inn, SC, and Union, NC.
We sponsor and host events outside of our regular network chapter meetings such as the socials, Networking Blueprint, Healthy Connections, and AT In Action class.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three things that have been the most impactful on my journey are listening to others who have had similar challenges, getting a coach (business, life, spiritual, books, podcast), and being will to try something to see if and how it works and then learning from that experience.

My advice is to get started and learn as you go. Take the time to listen to others who are further ahead in their journey. Be willing to help others without expecting anything in return.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

The first business book I read was The E-Myth and it is still one of my favorite books.
Michael Gerber’s The E-Myth Revisited teaches that most entrepreneurs get stuck working in their business instead of on it, creating a job rather than true freedom. A successful business requires balancing the roles of Technician, Manager, and Entrepreneur while building systems and processes that make the company run like a franchise—predictable, scalable, and consistent—regardless of the owner’s presence. The key is to design your business as the product itself, with consistency that builds trust, a structure that reflects your discipline and vision, and an end goal that aligns with the life you want. In short, your business should serve you, not the other way around.
