Meet Jinicka Tillie-campbell

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jinicka Tillie-campbell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Jinicka, thanks for sitting with us today to chat about topics that are relevant to so many. One of those topics is communication skills, because we live in an age where our ability to communicate effectively can be like a superpower. Can you share how you developed your ability to communicate well?

I believe my growing ability to communicate stems from a lack of being communicated with effectively. As a Florida girl, I understand that in the South, respect is a major value, especially from a parental perspective. Through my years of leadership and community service, I have learned that what we often perceive as respect can sometimes hinder effective communication. This, in turn, can lead to suppressed emotions and people-pleasing tendencies.

When you understand the balance between effective communication and kindness, it becomes a game changer. I believe that kindness is the marriage of being nice and setting boundaries, which ultimately fosters the ability to communicate effectively.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

What’s up, y’all? I AM Jinicka Tillie-Campbell!

I must tell you now—I am for the broken, not the toxic!

Before you get all tight, let me explain. I know some of y’all might be thinking, Well, ain’t that the same thing? It’s NOT! Sometimes, broken people make bad decisions from a place of pain, but that doesn’t make them toxic. Y’all straight now? Okay, cool—now back to my info.

I love family and friends! I thrive in the safety of my village. I AM a Mentor to the Mature (follow me for more on that). I AM a Servant Leader—I lead in the corporate space, and I AM the President & Founder of Women of War Inc. and GWAP (Girls with Wisdom, Authority & Power).

I AM a teacher—I love teaching the Word of God and giving people practical principles for becoming whole, both as human and spiritual beings. (Somebody play Donald Lawrence! 😉)

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a focus on abuse and addiction. But above all these titles, I AM a wife to my best friend, Gevon Campbell, and a mother to the smart, creative, bold, and kind Justice Love, as well as the humble, talented, smart, and courageous Zion Gevon.

Follow me on my journey! You can expect Jesus, mental health discussions, and Gurl Boss talk!

⚠️ Caution: If you know me, you know this Moncrief slips out—but I love Jesus and Starbucks! 😬

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The Three Most Impactful Parts of My Journey:
📖 Read Yo Bible! The Bible is the ultimate cheat code to life! If you don’t open it, you’re failing an open-book test. And if you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior—trust me, it’s a game-changer you should seriously consider. 🤎

🧠 Emotional Intelligence is Key! Understanding emotional intelligence and its value has completely transformed how I show up in every area of my life. It’s a must-have skill!

🚧 BOUNDARIES AREN’T OPTIONAL! “No” is a complete sentence. Period.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

My community of family and friends have been instrumental in life. Having people that have proven them selves to be safe is a game changer!
