Meet Joanna Brashear

We were lucky to catch up with Joanna Brashear recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Joanna , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
Growing up, I witnessed firsthand how my dad poured his heart and soul into his work, always striving for excellence and never settling for anything less. His dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment have left an indelible mark on me.

From the early mornings to the late nights, my dad has shown me that hard work truly pays off. He’s taught me the value of giving my all, pushing my limits, and never shying away from challenges.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m thrilled to share that this year, my bakery business is taking center stage as I focus on growth and bringing even more deliciousness to your lives!

I’ve been overwhelmed by the love and support I’ve received for my cakes, and it’s inspired me to dream bigger and reach higher.

In the coming months, I have planned an array of exciting flavors, innovative designs, and mouthwatering treats that will leave you craving for more!

I’m committed to expanding my bakery’s reach, both in terms of finding a physical location and an online presence. That means more opportunities for you to indulge in my delectable creations, no matter where you are!

But rest assured, while I’m focused on growth, quality will always remain my top priority. Each cake and treat will be made with the same love, attention to detail, and finest ingredients that people know and love.

I’m beyond grateful for the support and trust my community has given me and I can’t wait to share this exciting journey with everyone.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my journey, there are three qualities that have been most impactful:

Perseverance, Adaptability and Passion.

My advice to those starting their journey is to take the time to explore different areas of interest. Experiment, try new things, and don’t be afraid to pivot if you discover a new passion. Seek out mentors or role models who have achieved success in your desired field and learn from their experiences.

Remember, success is not a linear path, and everyone’s journey is unique. Embrace the ups and downs, stay true to yourself, and never stop learning and growing. With perseverance, adaptability, and a genuine passion for what you do, you’ll be well on your way to achieving your goals.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Currently, one of the main challenges I’m facing is the presence of local competitors in my industry. While healthy competition can be beneficial, it can also pose obstacles in terms of attracting and retaining customers,

To overcome this challenge, I am focusing on several strategies.

I believe that by focusing on differentiation, building relationships, strategic marketing, and continuous improvement, I can overcome this challenge and continue to thrive in my industry. Adaptability and a customer-centric approach are key in navigating the competitive landscape and ensuring long-term success as I believe in community over competition.
