Meet Jodi Anthes

We recently connected with Jodi Anthes and have shared our conversation below.

Jodi, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

When I knew it was time to leave my 9-5 to work for myself and start my social media management and coaching business, I was terrified. I felt like my work wasn’t ‘big’ enough to attract clients of my own to build a real business. But when I stepped back to look at all I had achieved so far for my clients and in my previous roles, I realized I was sabotaging my own success.

The feedback was all there right in front of me – from my clients, the data, it all showed that my social media skills were driving real, valuable results.

One day, I got a text from my client, telling me that she received an inquiry for her biggest booking yet, all from social media discovery.

It was at that point that I felt confident to take the leap, leave the 9-5, and take a chance on myself.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Social by Jodi was created to help solopreneurs reimagine the role of social media in their business, not as a chore or checkbox, but as a powerful tool for connection, visibility, and growth. I work with solopreneurs and freelancers to give them the tools, strategies, and confidence they need to show up online in a way that feels aligned *and* gets results.

Working for yourself isn’t always easy, but it’s a gift. It’s the freedom to build something on your own terms. And in today’s world, social media is often the bridge between those big dreams and the clients who help make them possible. Without it, many small business owners would struggle to get seen, build trust, or stay top-of-mind. That’s where I come in.

Whether it’s helping a client stay consistent with content, develop a personal brand, or scale into thought leadership, I support solopreneurs at every stage of the journey. I offer tailored services, from one-time audits to strategic coaching to done-for-you social media management, so there’s a solution that fits wherever you are in your growth.

What excites me most is seeing someone go from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to showing up confidently, building momentum, and actually enjoying the process again. That transformation never gets old!

Right now, I’m especially focused on helping business owners who want to become the *face* of their brand, whether that’s through video content, storytelling, or educational content that positions them as an expert in their niche.

I have some exciting things in the works! I’m working on a coaching program that will help business owners learn everything they need to know about creating content and running their own social media pages. Stay tuned!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Be patient, never stop learning, and look at the data!

In a fast-paced, ever-changing world like social media, it’s important to constantly be educating yourself on best practices and what your clients need most.

Social media is also a constant experiment! Try new things, give things time to see how they perform, and most importantly, don’t give up! It’s all about simultaneously assessing things from an analytical and a creative point of view and tweaking as you go.

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is a solopreneur, freelancer, or small business owner who’s ready to become the face of their brand but isn’t quite sure how to show up consistently or strategically on social media. They’re often juggling everything on their own, feeling overwhelmed by content creation, and unsure if what they’re posting is actually moving the needle. What they want most is to attract their dream clients, grow their business, and feel confident in how they show up online. They value intentional, authentic marketing and they’re willing to do the work, they just need the right systems, strategy, and support. I love working with clients who are motivated but stuck, because I get to help them shift from “I have no idea what to post” to “I finally feel like my content is working for me”, helping them to drive real results for their business!
