Meet Joe Bosworth/Jesse Guare

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Joe Bosworth/Jesse Guare. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Joe Bosworth/Jesse Guare with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
We both, my business partner and I, come from old school parents that had us working at a young age. Something we are both grateful for!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Jesse and I met at a local restaurant here in Colorado Springs. We soon found out we were cut from the same cloth and became friends immediately. We went our separate ways for a while working other jobs when I came up with the Firebird concept. I called Jesse up and asked what he thought, and he wanted to be a part of this new venture. We partnered up and the rest is history. One year later be bought our second mobile unit. We have been very lucky and blessed. But good luck comes to those that work hard!

We have now started our first brick and mortar; we are inside a food hall called Avenue 19. Along with five other stellar vendors. This is a very fun and exciting environment to be in. It’s like an indoor food truck rally but better. Fast casual downstairs, and fine dining upstairs, both equipped with full bars.

Our next step is to open a drive thru, and possibly start our own franchise, so someday we can retire, ha-ha.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Do your research. Stay humble, ask questions, surround yourself with people who are better than you. Work smarter, not harder, keep it simple. Location, location, location. Become a savvy businessperson, take classes, learn how to run a business, and goodness sakes start with enough capitol!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Both of our families have been so supportive. We couldn’t do it without them. Relying on each other as business partners and having each other’s back. Also, we have had some help from the state from a grant we applied for, they gave us money and taught us how to run our business better, it was a really good program we fell into.
