Meet Joel Mulbah

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Joel Mulbah. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Joel below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Joel with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic stems from a combination of my passion for innovation. I am also heavily influenced by my experiences in Switzerland. At the age of 18, I left my home country to learn from the best startup entrepreneurs in Switzerland. I absorbed all the knowledge and experiences that I could. Many of those entrepreneurs were insanely hard workers and that was my first experience of what hard work actually looks like. I took that experience and made it an expectation for myself.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an entrepreneur. At just 18 years old, I left my home country and flew across the Atlantic to Switzerland to learn from the best startup entrepreneurs in the business, many of who went on to dominate their industries.

I went on to start Mulbah Media. I am the CEO and Founder of Mulbah Media. Mulbah Media is the full service media company. We create and advertise media to cultivate progress. Right now, we are focused on marketing but the vision for Mulbah Media is big.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Passion for Learning: My journey began with a thirst for knowledge. Being curious and open to learning from the best entrepreneurs in the business during my early years in Switzerland laid a strong foundation. My advice to those starting their journey is to cultivate a genuine passion for what they do and never stop learning. Seek out mentors, attend workshops and conferences, read books, and continuously stay updated with industry trends. Embracing a growth mindset and being receptive to new ideas will fuel personal and professional growth.

Work Ethic: The commitment to the work played a pivotal role in my entrepreneurial journey. It’s crucial for aspiring entrepreneurs to understand that success rarely comes overnight. It requires dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to put in the effort, especially during challenging times. My advice is to develop a strong work ethic, set clear goals, and stay focused on the long-term vision. Embrace failures as learning opportunities and keep pushing forward with determination.

Listening: It’s crucial understanding of consumer behavior and address their needs effectively and in order to do that, you need to listen.. By placing the customer at the center of every decision, I was able to create products that resonated with them.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The book I would recommend to everyone would be their own. Live your life so that when you die, the book they write about you will be worth the read.
