We were lucky to catch up with Johane Ismond recently and have shared our conversation below.
Johane, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
How I Built My Confidence and Self-Esteem
For years, I struggled with depression, constantly seeking validation from others, believing that their approval defined my worth. But the truth was, I didn’t love myself—I didn’t even know how to. That realization was the turning point.
I began prioritizing self-care, not just physically but mentally and emotionally. I changed my thoughts, rewired my mindset, and built daily habits that nurtured self-love. I became intentional about what I consumed—what I watched, listened to, read, and even the environments I placed myself in. I realized that everything around me had the power to influence my energy, and I had to protect my peace.
The most transformative shift happened when I put God first. Through faith, I discovered my true value and purpose. I understood that I was created for a reason, with unique gifts meant to be shared with the world. Loving myself became easier when I embraced the idea that I am enough, just as I am.
Confidence isn’t about perfection; it’s about knowing your worth, standing in your power, and walking in your purpose. And now, I choose to love myself every single day.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Spreading the Word: J’adoreMi – Self-Care & Wealth Advocacy
I am the founder of J’adoreMi, a brand dedicated to helping people transform their lives through self-care and financial empowerment. The name itself means “I adore me,” which reflects my mission—encouraging individuals to prioritize self-love, mental well-being, and financial growth.
Right now, I’m working on something truly exciting—my new book, which is all about guiding people through their self-care journey, making better choices for their mental health, and achieving spiritual growth. This book, which will be available on Amazon, is designed to help people build a strong foundation of self-worth and clarity in their lives.
Beyond self-care, I’m also deeply passionate about wealth-building. I teach digital marketing strategies to help people create financial freedom through social media, building their own personal brands, and launching successful online courses. I also run an Etsy store, Shopify store, and TikTok shop, which I’m continually growing because I believe in having multiple income streams. Financial freedom allows us to truly live life on our terms, rather than just working to pay bills.
Education is a big part of my journey as well. I just graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications, and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Business Administration. I want to reinvest in my business and create a hybrid work lifestyle that enables me to thrive in the online space.
My ultimate goal is to build a successful online business that gives me both the time and money to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming an actress and producing movies. I have a deep passion for writing and sharing stories that inspire and motivate others, and I want to bring that creative vision to life on screen.
In addition to my online ventures, I plan to host exclusive self-care and wealth-building events—from brunches to yacht gatherings—where we can come together to focus on personal growth and learn how to make smart investments. It’s time we start living, not just surviving. Let’s stay focused, elevate our mindset, and build the lives we truly deserve!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three Most Important Qualities for Success
Looking back on my journey as a single mom, full-time college student, and recently divorced woman, three key qualities have been the most impactful: self-discipline, adaptability, and confidence.
1. Self-Discipline – Success isn’t about motivation; it’s about consistency. Balancing school, parenting, and rebuilding my life after divorce wasn’t easy, but discipline kept me moving forward. There were days I wanted to give up, but I reminded myself why I started. My advice? Create a routine, set small goals, and hold yourself accountable. Even the smallest progress adds up.
2. Adaptability – Life doesn’t always go as planned, and learning to adjust is key. As a single mom and student, I had to embrace change, whether it was managing finances, learning new skills, or finding ways to juggle everything. If you’re just starting out, stay open to learning—take courses, read books, ask for help, and be willing to try new approaches. Growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone.
3. Confidence – Going through a divorce and starting over forced me to rebuild my self-worth. I used to seek validation from others, but I realized confidence comes from within. Investing in self-care, surrounding myself with positive influences, and focusing on personal growth helped me step into my power. If you’re struggling with confidence, start by celebrating small wins, setting boundaries, and reminding yourself daily that you are capable and deserving of success.
For anyone early in their journey, especially those navigating major life changes, know that you are stronger than you think. Focus on building strong habits, stay open to change, and believe in yourself even before you see results. Your future self will thank you!
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The Book That Transformed My Life
The most important book in my journey of growth and transformation has been the Bible. It has given me strength, wisdom, and a deeper understanding of who I am and what I’m capable of. In my hardest moments—navigating life as a single mom, full-time college student, and recently divorced woman—this book has been my foundation.
Here are a few of the most impactful lessons that have shaped me:
1. “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” – Proverbs 23:7
This verse taught me the power of mindset. The way I think about myself and my future determines my reality. If I want success, peace, and abundance, I need to align my thoughts with those things.
2. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13
This verse has been my fuel. Whenever I felt overwhelmed—balancing school, work, parenting, and my personal healing—I reminded myself that I was not alone. Strength comes from within, and with faith, I can overcome anything.
3. “Write the vision and make it plain.” – Habakkuk 2:2
This verse has been key in my business and personal growth. It reminded me to set clear goals, write them down, and take action. Whether it’s building my brand, expanding my businesses, or stepping into my dream of acting and producing, I stay focused on the vision God placed in my heart.
The Bible didn’t just give me encouragement; it gave me strategies for life—how to think, how to act, and how to trust the process even when things feel uncertain. My advice for anyone on their journey: fill your mind with wisdom, stay focused on your vision, and trust that you are exactly where you need to be.
