Meet John Moody

We recently connected with John Moody and have shared our conversation below.

John, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience has developed through time and experience, shaped by both successes and setbacks. Facing challenges—whether professional or personal—has taught me that mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow. Each failure has pushed me to adapt, reassess, and keep moving forward with a clearer sense of purpose.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

At Water Bridge Aquamation, we provide a gentle, sustainable way to honor pets after they pass. Aquamation, also known as water cremation, is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional cremation that uses water instead of fire. It’s a process that mirrors nature’s way of returning life to the earth, offering a meaningful option for families to say goodbye to pets.

What makes our work special is the opportunity to blend compassion with innovation. Losing a pet is deeply personal, and we take pride in offering a service that respects that bond while also caring for the planet. For me, the most exciting aspect is seeing how people respond when they realize they have an option that aligns with their values—both emotionally and environmentally.

At Water Bridge Aquamation, we’re committed to raising awareness about this sustainable alternative and creating a trusted space for pet owners. Starting this business has been an incredible journey, and I’m grateful to bring something new and meaningful to our community.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to learning. Resilience helped me push through challenges and setbacks, adaptability allowed me to pivot and grow in changing circumstances, and a focus on continuous learning kept me open to new ideas and opportunities.

For those starting their journey, I recommend leveraging all available resources to build a strong foundation. Organizations like SCORE, SBDC, and your local Chamber of Commerce offer invaluable guidance, mentorship, and support for new businesses. These resources can help you avoid common pitfalls, refine your strategy, and connect with others who can support your vision.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

At Water Bridge Aquamation, we’re always looking for meaningful collaborations to enhance our community and environment. One exciting aspect of our process is that the water byproduct from aquamation is a nutrient-rich fertilizer, called Earth Glow, which is registered with the Colorado Department of Agriculture. This natural fertilizer can contribute to healthier soil and thriving landscapes.

We’re excited to partner with city Parks and Recreation departments, community gardens, and other green spaces to support sustainable landscaping initiatives. Each year, we aim to donate hundreds of thousands of gallons of Earth Glow to make this possible. By working together, we can create a positive environmental impact while fostering a healthier, greener community.

If you’re interested in collaborating, we’d love to hear from you! You can connect with us through our website or reach out directly via email or phone.
