Meet John Posey III

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful John Posey III a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi John, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
“Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it” ~Buddha

All I know is I have an uncontrollable compulsion to create and build fantastic worlds and stories through my games, cartoons and comics. I am not sure if it is my purpose but its what I have always been driven to pursue.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I make games, cartoons and comics.

I’m an award winning bartender, I love bouldering, mountain biking and running the trails with my dog, engaged to an amazing woman, and sometimes I wear pants.

Currently working on my dream project right now called S7Cyberpunk. It is a zany sci-fi cyberpunk about discovering a new planet and building a settlement on it. You can check out stuff about it here www.thesenecaproject.com

Anywho…that’s about it I suppose.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Tenacity, Endurance and Faith.

No matter what you are going to do if you set off on your own like I did then those three qualities are your triforce.

It will be tough, but if you maintain the faith in your dream, endure the self sacrifice required and pursue it with relentless tenacity you will never falter and eventually you will reach your goal.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
We are actively looking for a game coder that wants to make an adventure RPG to join our team to work on the S7Cyberpunk project. We are developing the game in unity.
