Meet John Truitt

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to John Truitt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi John , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

The confidence that I possess started a long time ago. I attended a private elementary school in Pacoima California that taught the normal curriculums taught in every school system and they were also big on the students knowing and learning about Black History education. I was a singer in the choir, I competed for roles in plays that taught about God and the history of the Bible, I competed in poem competitions, spelling bee’s etc. So, although I may not know everything about my full history , I most certainly know who I am, where I come from and the person that I would like to become.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

When it comes to Pets, I have noticed that I’m actually passionate or into a few different things that involves them. I run a pet friendly social club and offers pet owners the opportunities to enjoy their dogs in public settings, just as much as I enjoy mine. The name of my pet friendly social club is called TheDogBFF Social Club. Im a professional dog groomer. My dog grooming business is something that I’m taking very serious and setting everything up professionally. The name of my dog grooming business is “Magic Hands Dog Grooming.” Although I am still grooming my regular clients dogs, Im also preparing to update my entire grooming business to ensure that everything is set up on a professional level. I created a brand new painting class for pet owners and their dogs, called the “Fur_casso Painting Experience,” and I also invented a brand new style of painting known as, “Abstract Canine Expressionism.” The Fur_casso Painting Experience is the world’s first painting class that explores the creativity of a dogs mind. My Bulldog is a professional Dog Artist that creates Art, paintings in particular and we sell them for exclusive prices state to state. Each entity that I mentioned are the ones that I am most passionate about. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

3 quality skills that were impactful in my journey:

You have to be strong minded, you cannot let anyone take you off of your game. There are a million distractions, set backs, and everything else involved with chasing your dreams in life, understand that it’s all apart of the journey and keep going.

Be willing to do the work that most people are not willing to put in. This is what separates successful people from others.

Do Not listen to others and sticking to my own vision and plans. Sometimes this can be difficult when you are used to hanging out in crowds or groups of friends. Sometimes other people’s opinions will discourage you from doing what you have planned for your life, stay focused and watch how you accomplish your goals while they are still talking about “obstacles” that stopped them from accomplishing theirs.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

I would spend that decade doing exactly what I’m doing right now. Living, Learning, Loving and Leveling Up. My life is fulfilling!
