Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to John Winlock; Jr. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi John, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
I disconnect from the world daily. It allows me to truly focus on how well I performed that day, including my misses, likes, loves, dislikes, and so on. This also gives me time to reflect on how I feel physically, mentally, and emotionally.
I believe in staying tapped into how you feel and understanding why you feel the way you do. This holds me accountable to my health and wellness and I try to share the positives in this type of approach with people I work with.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
What we do is offer people a way to feel more confident, capable, and complete through the various services offered within my Wellness Coaching business.
Me being a certified Wellness Coach, Nutrition Coach, and Personal Trainer I am capable of offering our clients a holistic approach that can help people reach their goals rather it’s to eat better, sleep better, or move better.
StayBNU Wellness Coaching wants all of our clients to achieve their goals without losing who they are in the process. We don’t want the people working with us to do anything more than be who they are and that’s why our approach to health and wellness is a realistic one that we all can relate too.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I am certain that my personal experience on the weight-loss journey plays a huge role in my ability to understand, relate, be empathetic, while at the same time have compassion for those I work with. Being in a situation to where my health and wellne
My communication skills and for sure my eagerness to always learn and level up.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
One of the most impactful things that my parents did for me was to get up and go to work every day. I cannot remember a day my parents called off of work just to stay home. My father was in the ARMY, and he got up every morning around the same time. He would do his workout, then he would come home, get ready, and head back out to his unit to do the work required for him to be successful. After 22yrs of that, he retired. Watching that kind of discipline has always been a motivating factor for why I go hard.
