Hi Johnathan, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
In 1998, my passion for gaming was ignited when my father gifted me an NES console. Little did I know that this humble beginning would shape the course of my life. Years later, in 2007, I delved into the captivating world of game development, and with each passing day, my commitment to turning this passion into a profession grew stronger. By the time I graduated in 2012, I knew without a doubt that game development was my calling.

It was in 2017 that a fortuitous encounter changed the trajectory of my journey. I had the privilege of meeting Tim Vincent, a truly gifted individual who saw potential in me and offered me a position as a 3D props modeler. Despite our limited resources and the challenges we faced in selling our games, we never wavered in our resolve. We embraced every obstacle as an opportunity to stretch our creativity and find innovative solutions. The path to success was not without its fair share of struggles and challenges, but we remained steadfast in our pursuit.

In 2020 tragedy struck when Tim was taken from us by the devastating effects of Covid. The loss of my dear friend left a profound void in my heart, but it also ignited a fire within me to honor his memory and carry on his legacy. In 2023, a glimmer of hope emerged as JD Ghizmo, one of Tim’s closest friends, found me on Facebook. United by our shared vision and driven by our determination to make a difference, we decided to establish TnT Gamez LLC—a company that serves as a testament to Tim’s enduring spirit.

Through the challenges we have faced, a sense of purpose has emerged. With unwavering dedication and resilience, TnT Gamez embodies our belief in the transformative power of games. Guided by the memory of Tim, we rise above challenges and push the boundaries of creativity and innovation. Our mission is clear: to create games that bring joy and inspire players around the world. Together, we strive to make a meaningful impact in the gaming industry, fueled by the legacy of Tim Vincent and our unwavering commitment to excellence.

Thank you for the opportunity to discuss TnT Gamez LLC, a company for gamerz by gamerz. Where my friend Ghizmo and I, as Co-Owners, are dedicated indie game developers pushing the boundaries of imagination. Prepare for the revamped Neon D-Fence Remaster, a captivating point-and-click tower defense game that will test your strategic prowess. Engage in thrilling battles, build intricate defense structures, and fend off relentless waves of enemies in this adrenaline-fueled adventure.

Get ready to defy gravity in Mtn Chaos, a high-speed racing platformer that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It’s a race against time as you navigate treacherous terrains, unleash jaw-dropping stunts, and aim for the quickest time possible. With heart-pounding action and mesmerizing landscapes, Mtn Chaos delivers an immersive experience like no other.

Harnessing the power of cutting-edge tools and technologies, we program games using the versatile Godot engine, create captivating artwork and stunning 3D models in Blender, Plasticity, and 3D Coat, and breathe life into our designs with the realistic textures painted using Substance Painter. Our passion drives us to craft unforgettable gaming experiences, and we can’t wait to share our creations with the world. Join us on this thrilling adventure through the realms of TnT Gamez!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting on my journey, one of the qualities that has had a profound impact is perseverance. Perseverance is key to pushing forward no matter the obstacles. Starting a game is easy, but seeing it through to completion requires dedication and the ability to meet deadlines. Embrace the challenges that arise, stay determined, and never lose sight of your goal. With perseverance, you can overcome hurdles and bring your game to fruition.

Embracing a growth mindset is another crucial skill for game developers. Always seek opportunities for improvement and growth, constantly learning and evolving in your craft. Embrace both positive and negative experiences as learning opportunities. Keep an open mind, be willing to adapt and explore new ideas, and continuously strive to enhance your skills as a game developer. A growth mindset will fuel your development journey and enable you to create better games.

Lastly, finding sources of inspiration and strength is vital. For some, this may come from faith or a belief system. In my case, my strength comes from my belief in God. Having a source of inspiration and strength provides hope and resilience during challenging times. It serves as a guiding light that keeps you motivated and driven to pursue your game development dreams.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Taking everything one step at a time has become my personal motto. I am fortunate to work alongside a team that feels like family, where we fight for our shared beliefs and give our all to accomplish our tasks.

While our team is already strong, I felt the need to step up and take on additional responsibilities to propel us forward. I dedicated myself to improving our advertising skills to enhance market visibility, refining website design, and expanding my game programming expertise. This past year has been a period of tremendous growth, and I am eagerly anticipating the exciting opportunities that the next year holds in store for us!
