We were lucky to catch up with Johnny Tea recently and have shared our conversation below.
Johnny, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Definitely from my parents. Watching them overcome so many obstacles growing up has shaped me into who I am today.

I’m a strength coach, trainer, manual therapist, and I help people accomplish their health and fitness goals.
Whether be it for sports performance, body composition goals, or rehab/post rehab, the most important thing is establishing a starting point and trust with each other, lay out a play to accomplish the goal, and then execute it in a collaborative effort
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1) Being empathetic towards other people’s struggles. 2) Never being complacent.
3) Being an effective communicator.
I would recommend working under a mentor who’s doing exactly what you’d like to be doing in the near future, have frequent interactions with others to develop better people skills, and work on being a better listener.
How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Right now, my biggest challenge is figuring out how to work more efficiently and setting better boundaries. I’m definitely getting better at it, but it’s an ongoing process.
