Jon , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I always knew that I had a special love for music from a very young age. I also have always had a need to be independent and not follow the traditional path of society. One fateful night in 1994 I walked into a warehouse and was overtaken with inspiration while watching local Seattle legend Dj Quest djing. From that moment on i knew that I wanted to be a dj. Djing seemed the perfect path to being my own boss, and not being reliant on others to achieve my goals. My mantra has always been work with and not for anyone. i just listened to my soul/inner voice from a very young age.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I currently dj locally, nationally and internationally. I also own and run my own label Tilted Records which i founded in 1999 with my then partner Brent Laurence. I also am a record vendor and dabble in property management.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Learning not to take things personally is a big one. Also I have learned that staying true to oneself and not compromising your integrity is the key to being happy with one’s journey. Get rid of the ego. it will make things much more clear and genuine.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
They let me be me. They realized i was going to do what I was driven to do. They told they loved me and wanted more than anything they wanted me to be happy and to do what I love.
