Meet Jonah Meyer

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jonah Meyer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jonah, thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?

My self-discipline comes from two places: my step-father and through the time I spent learning martial arts. When I was 12 years of age, I decided to take Tae Kwon Do classes and as a student I learned the importance of self-discipline, integrity, and perseverance. My step-father, also being a martial artist, helped to enforce these values in my life.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m the co-owner and CEO of Be Kurvy LLC. We are mainly an apparel company, but also offer self-care products such as hair oils, shampoos, and conditioners. Our services are available at www.bekurvy.com or shoppers are welcome to come visit our location inside of Painted Tree Boutiques in Cincinnati, OH! Apart from being a CEO, I am also a music producer and I run a podcast. My producer name is JavariMakesBeats and I have been producing music and mastering my craft for the past four years. My profile can be found on the BeatStars platform. My podcast is titled “The Christianity Method” and can be found on Spotify. It is dedicated to helping others understand the Gospel of Christ. I absolutely love being a CEO and music producer, I have the freedom of being my own boss and being able to indulge in my passion for music. Also being able to run a podcast and share my knowledge with the rest of the world is such a blessing.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey were: having gained leadership experience in almost all the jobs I’ve worked. That leadership experience helps me to be able to manage my own company and has given me the necessary insight I need to fill the shoes of a CEO. Networking and communicating with others is another skill, and lastly being consistent. My advice for those who are early in their journey is to remain consistent, don’t stop what you’re doing just because the people you know don’t support or understand your vision. Stay persistant and never back down from your goals.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

I’d have to say my wife. She is my rock, she keeps me going whenever I’m feeling discouraged. We both lift each other up when we are down and each have our own skill sets and qualities that we pour into each other. Together we are a team.
