We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jonathan Jeanbaptiste a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jonathan , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my mother, grown up She was a single mother of four. She migrated from Haiti to Miami to give me and my siblings a life with me being the youngest, and the only male I always felt like I had a lot to prove. And watching my mom wake up every single morning even if she was sick or had no way to work , seeing that since a toddler … kind of built that fire in my heart to keep pushing and thriving for what I really wanted not just for me but for my family and generations to come.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Jonathan Jeanbaptiste born June 9, 2001 in Miami Florida, with six female siblings and me being the only male… I grew up in the Haitian household in North Miami as far as I remembered with the passion for acting & dancing , I did have a rough life coming up growing up in poverty… my mother couldn’t afford a lot of things for me or my sisters, but she always had found a way…
I began creating videos in the second grade when I first found out about social media, the first social media app that I’ve got on was YouTube, then vine, and a live streaming app called you now … I grew up being inspired by Youtubers like prank versus prank, Roman Atwood, dormtainment and Ryan higa .
I fell in love with the idea of creating skits for people to enjoy and laugh at so comedy was my number one, even with out social media what sparked my interest in acting was actors like Martin Lawrence,Mekhi phifer, and taye diggs
These guys not only inspired me but they gave me a sense of a male role model , didn’t have much of that growing up
So from elementary through middle school I stuck to plan A , I would then practice my craft of acting on the vine app with inspiration from creators like , Jerry purpdrank, king Bach , and destorm powers , these creators were my peak influence and gave me that motivation to produce authentic content and using my creativity to give everyone a good feel through my videos
From highschool going into my senior year 2020 , and Covid hit with everyone being stuck in their home bored I genuinely didn’t like the TikTok app at first but my sister insisted that I try . and my first video of me doing a skit on different fight stances to avoid blew up with over 500,000 views in five hours from there I had so much motivation to keep pushing myself and to keep God within the center of everything that I was doing and potentially had the chance to continue to grow leaving my senior year I accumulated over 100,000 followers and counting .
Creating authentic content genuinely give me chills because I resonate with new viewers and old on a daily basis giving them either a nostalgic memory or I give them a unexpected flash back on their childhood with a relatable post and all the ideas are genuinely just flowing through my head

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
First skill that I felt like was genuinely important was patience.it is probably one of the difficult things because you never know when anything is going to happen, but you just have to trust and believe that God has it so out for you.
Second skill is creativity honestly, I feel like with this. It’s either you do have it or you don’t, but if you genuinely sit down and exercise your mind to think outside the box daily, you can genuinely come up with some creative ideas that will shake the Internet.
Last but not least master consistency I know it sounds very corny and you hear it a lot, but I believe that being consistent will help you thrive if people are seeing you on a daily and you’re all throughout their for you page or explore page they have no choice but to interact it just only means that you’re doing good.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, I am honestly, I’m open to collaborate with anybody that’s genuinely partnering up with me to do something for the Internet spread the good energy and more. I’m really looking to work with somebody that I have good chemistry with.
People that I’m of looking into working with is Fanum who is a AMP member!… when it comes to this talented individual, he’s another version of me. He’s very creative and well directed when it comes to acting. I feel as if that he’s a very genuine person. As far of me supporting him. And he shows true authenticity.
