Meet Jonathan Johnson

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jonathan Johnson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Jonathan, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from the way that my parents raised me, but also doing my best to show the same generosity that has been show to me over the years from others be it that I know the person or not. My aim is to also show kindness. Everybody you meet us facing some type of battle, it’s our duty to show kindness to each other.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I write children’s and middle grade books for all ages. My goal is to make reading for families fun again. What’s most exciting about what I do is that I am able to give readers a different and fun perspective on reading. I’ve been blessed to have books that help parents talk about various topics such as adoption, school life, and even what a true super hero is.

I am currently working on three different projects that will be available going into the holiday season.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most important qualities, skills, and areas of knowledge that have been the most impactful for me are; patience, networking, and consistency. Each of these attributes have helped me produce five books.

For those that are early in their writing journey, give yourself grace. Life doesn’t stop, but also remember dreams don’t have deadlines. Always be coachable and don’t be afraid to start over if that’s what your project requires.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My biggest area of growth has been my consistency with finishing projects ahead of schedule. Being an independent author, there’s no actual timeline to finish a project, but in order to be great at anything, consistency is a must.
