Meet Jonathan Tucker

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jonathan Tucker. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jonathan below.

Jonathan, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?

I keep trying to better myself. I draw inspiration from any form of great art.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I started my music journey when I was 11 year old. I learned to play drums and played in many bands in my early years in various genres. I started rapping and producing beats many years later. I also learned to record mix and master myself in order to present my music the way I heard it in my head.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Learning to record myself, mix and master. I think it gives an artist and upper hand to be able to learn these things, that way your finished product ends up being exactly what you want. It takes time to come to an understanding of these processes. Luckily, there are many resources online. Other than that the best way to get good is to tinker with every plug in, DAW, synth, equipment that you can get your hands on to further your knowledge on how it all works and what works best for your sound.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I am. My ideal collaborator would need to be one who thinks outside of the box and be open minded to various genres of music and to be willing to create something different.
