Meet Jonathan Vasquez

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jonathan Vasquez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Jonathan , thank you so much for joining us today. There are so many topics we could discuss, but perhaps one of the most relevant is empathy because it’s at the core of great leadership and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your empathy?

My dad’s life when he was young.
Christian life in church when I was little.
Some charity events we had for kids that had low resources or no money at all.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Hello, my name is Jonathan Vasquez, I am 27 years old and I’m a social media content creator currently located in Katy Texas.
I studied mechatronics engineering but I don’t pursue my career. I started creating content during pandemic in Mexico where I was raised, originally it was just for fun.. but then the vision of just creating content “for not a defined purpose” changed my life and point of view when I started getting lots of messages among all my social media pages from sad and depressed people that wanted to commit suicide or just wanted to stop living..
Telling me that thanks to my videos they can have a time of fun and a spark of hope and happiness in their lives. Which made me finally understand the real point of creating comedy content in the social media world.
It’s amazing the amount of people that has this issue, and how a funny video can create and can change his destiny or way of thinking for just a little more.
I don’t really have a brand right now but I am on the process of taking that step.
But what I also do is: every time I visit my family in Mexico for the December holidays I like to bring a time of happiness to the low resources kids of my city, I make this movement where we go out to the city and share some toys and food to the kids that need it the most, so every year I’ve been trying to make something different with them so they can keep smiling even more (:

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Be real:
Be your 100% authentic self and don’t try to be someone you’re not, don’t be fake.

2. Have fun and love on what you do:
If you don’t have love on what you’re doing then you’re not enjoying it and it will end frustrating you, always do what you like to do and not what other people tell you to do, remember its your life and own path, not theirs. Once you love it will be fun!

3. Don’t Care what others say or think about you:
My abuelita used to say: “no eres monedita de oro para caerle bien a todos” which means: you’re not a gold coin to make every one likes you.
In this world and the social media world, there will always be people that loves you and hates you, so don’t be stressed about it and just keep doing what your doing, focusing on your goals and objectives.
Take the good stuff and bad stuff to learn from it.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

In my case it was my family and myself, family is very important.. and having the advice and support from someone who loves you like your mom and dad its something to be grateful of having in this world.
On the other side.. People you know or the ones you used to call “friends”, leave.. family don’t.
