Meet Jonni Parsons

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jonni Parsons a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jonni, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I built a million-dollar marketing agency, and that achievement is deeply rooted in my family’s journey and the struggles they faced. Growing up, I witnessed the hardships my family had, and it instilled in me a strong desire to create a better life for my daughter—one filled with opportunities and free from the bad experiences we had. My faith in God has been a cornerstone of this journey. I often reflect on Colossians 3:23, which reminds us to “work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” This verse inspires me to approach my work with purpose and dedication, knowing that my efforts are more than just for personal gain; they are a way to honor God and set an example for my daughter.

My company isn’t just a job for me; it’s a dream come true and proof that hard work and faith can really pay off. I want to show my daughter that if we stick with it and stay committed, we can create a brighter future together. It’s all about breaking the cycle and forging a new path for the next generation.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

At Sunday Morning Marketing, we focus on helping businesses grow like crazy on social media and supercharge their lead generation. I actually started this company eight years ago in my dorm room, and it’s been an incredible journey ever since! What I love most about what we do is the awesome connections we create between brands and their audiences. There’s something really special about watching a business thrive through genuine engagement and seeing their message hit home with the right people.

We mix creativity with strategy, and it’s amazing to see how we can really change a brand’s online presence. I genuinely enjoy working with the people we partner with—building those relationships and teaming up to reach their goals is what makes this journey so rewarding.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back on my journey, I’d say the three most impactful qualities have been my dedication to growth, my networking skills, and my passion for creativity. First, growing my own social media pages was monumental. It taught me the ins and outs of engagement, content creation, and understanding what truly resonates with an audience. This hands-on experience was invaluable and laid the foundation for everything I do now.

Second, networking has been essential. Building genuine relationships with others in the industry opened up so many doors for me. It’s not just about what you know; it’s also about who you know. Connecting with like-minded individuals and mentors can provide support, guidance, and opportunities you might not find on your own.

Lastly, embracing creativity has fueled my passion and kept me motivated. The marketing world is always evolving, so thinking outside the box and being willing to experiment has set me apart.

For anyone just starting out, my advice is to dive into growing your own platforms—experiment, learn what works, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Network as much as you can; attend events, join online communities, and reach out to people in your field. Lastly, never stop nurturing your creativity. Explore new ideas and stay curious.

Looking back on my journey, I feel super lucky to have had some amazing mentors by my side. They’ve really helped me tackle challenges and build the skills I needed. Their advice and support have been a game-changer, especially when things got tough. Hearing their stories and insights has made navigating the ups and downs of running my business a lot easier.

My faith in God has also been huge for me. When I face obstacles, leaning on my faith gives me strength and clarity. Prayer has been my go-to for comfort, helping me make tough decisions and reminding me to keep my focus on what really matters.

Honestly, my mentors and my faith have been essential in shaping who I am today. I’m so grateful for their support, and I truly believe that having a solid support system, along with faith, is key for anyone trying to find success on their own journey.
