Meet Jordan Chaffin

We recently connected with Jordan Chaffin and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Jordan with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

My work ethic is something I hold close to my heart, and it’s a quality I’ve been fortunate to inherit from my mother. She is the epitome of dedication and perseverance, someone who never shies away from hard work, even when the odds seem stacked against her. I have vivid memories of her staying up late into the night, tirelessly working to complete tasks that others might have abandoned. Those sleepless nights were not just acts of resilience but powerful lessons for me—lessons about grit, commitment, and pushing through when things get tough.

Growing up, I saw her tackle challenges head-on, often putting the needs of others above her own. Even when she was exhausted, she would never give up. Watching her made me realize that true strength lies in perseverance and that no obstacle is insurmountable if you approach it with determination and heart.

Her unwavering dedication has shaped the way I approach my own life and work. Whether it’s running my business, managing multiple responsibilities, or pursuing my goals, I carry her example with me. My mother’s legacy is a constant reminder that hard work and persistence can pave the way to success, even when the road ahead looks uncertain.”

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

At Logolepsy and Hooked on Looks, I channel my creative spirit into two beloved crafts: crocheting and designing unique stickers. Over the years, I’ve explored many creative hobbies, including drawing, writing, embroidery, and bullet journaling, and all of these experiences have enriched my artistic journey. Crocheting, however, holds a special place in my heart. The process is incredibly calming—there’s something so relaxing about the rhythm of each stitch and the way it allows me to turn simple yarn into something beautiful and meaningful. Every piece I create is a reflection of that meditative joy and is infused with individuality and care.

In addition to crocheting, my sticker business lets me share my passion for design and art in a playful, accessible way. Stickers are such a wonderful outlet for creativity—they brighten up everyday items and allow people to add a bit of their personality to things like journals, laptops, or gifts. Like my crocheted creations, my stickers are designed with care and creativity, making every piece unique and personal.

What makes my brand truly special to me is the end result and how happy it makes those around me. Whether it’s a cozy crocheted piece or a fun sticker design, I pour my heart into each creation. I also love collaborating with customers to bring their visions to life, ensuring that every item is one-of-a-kind and special. Thank you for supporting small businesses like mine and for celebrating the beauty of creativity—it means so much to me!

I’m excited to share that on May 4th, 2025, I’ll be at a pop-up shop located at The Great Hall & Conference Center, 1900 S Germantown Rd, Germantown, TN 38138. I can’t wait to meet you and show you some of my favorite creations in person!”

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, I believe three key qualities or areas of knowledge that significantly contributed to my journey are:

1. **Creativity and Adaptability**: The ability to think outside the box and adapt ideas across different forms of art has been invaluable. Moving from drawing and writing to embroidery and crochet taught me how to channel creativity into new mediums while staying flexible in learning and experimenting.

2. **Patience and Persistence**: Crafting, especially crocheting, requires time, practice, and perseverance. Mistakes are inevitable, but they’re also where the most learning happens. Building patience allowed me to enjoy the process rather than rushing toward the result.

3. **Attention to Detail**: Whether it’s perfecting a stitch in crochet or fine-tuning a sticker design, focusing on the small details elevates the quality of work. Cultivating this skill has ensured that each piece I create is something I’m proud to share.

For those just starting out, here’s my advice:

1. **Start Small, Aim Big**: Begin with manageable projects to build confidence and skills. Gradually, as you grow more comfortable, challenge yourself with more ambitious tasks—it’s how you expand your abilities.

2. **Learn from Others**: Dive into the community, whether online or in-person. Watch tutorials, join groups, and connect with others who share your passion. Seeing different techniques and perspectives can inspire you and enhance your own journey.

3. **Enjoy the Process**: Don’t rush to perfection or compare yourself to others. Every expert was once a beginner. Embrace the mistakes—they’re a sign that you’re trying and learning. Celebrate your progress and the joy of creating.

The most rewarding part of the journey is discovering your unique voice and style along the way. Your passion and perseverance will lead you to incredible places!

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

The biggest challenge I’m currently facing is balancing all the different aspects of my life while staying true to my creative passions. Between attending school, maintaining a day job, and running my crochet and sticker business, there are times when it feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day. Add to that the occasional frustration of not being able to find the perfect yarn I have in mind for a project—it can be a bit overwhelming! As someone who’s naturally introverted, putting myself out there, especially when it comes to promoting my business, can feel daunting at times.

To tackle these challenges, I’ve been working on improving my time management and prioritization skills. I’ve started setting clearer schedules, carving out dedicated time for each aspect of my life, and allowing myself some flexibility for when unexpected things come up. For the yarn issue, I’ve been exploring alternative suppliers and experimenting with different materials to stay creative and adaptable. As for being introverted, I remind myself that I’m sharing what I love with the world, and I take small, manageable steps to push myself out of my comfort zone—whether that’s engaging more on social media or attending events like the pop-up shop in May.

It’s definitely a learning process, but I know each step, no matter how small, brings me closer to finding a balance that works and growing both personally and professionally.
