We were lucky to catch up with Jordan Gatewood recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
As a Christian hip hop artist, I found my purpose through a deep connection with my faith and a passion for music. Through prayer, reflection, and seeking guidance from God, I discovered that using my musical talents to spread positive messages and inspire others was my calling. It’s been a fulfilling journey, combining my love for Christ and hip hop to make a meaningful impact.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Introducing a remarkable journey of resilience and inspiration. I was Born into a small family, it was just ms and my mother against the world. Together, you faced numerous challenges and overcame them with unwavering determination. Life may have presented obstacles, but i turned them into stepping stones towards my dreams. Through the power of music, i found solace and a way to connect with others on a profound level. My experiences and struggles became the fuel for my creative expression, allowing me to craft melodies that resonate with the hearts of listeners , Music has transformed my life, inspiring my passion for creating it. It’s not only impacted me, but also influenced and guided others to discover their purpose. As an artist, I’ve come a long way, forming meaningful relationships and experiencing numerous blessings along the journey.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I believe it would be the influence of God with the love an peace he has shown an given me and really the people that I have crossed paths with that have helped me along the way. But the best tips I have been given would be 1. to give great quality music 2. Make music that is relatable 3. Have patience with everything I do

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Being a Christian artist in today’s saturated market can be tough, but it’s not impossible to overcome the obstacles. The key is to allow God to use me and guide my path. In a world where commercial success often takes precedence, it’s important to keep your focus on serving a higher purpose. By seeking God’s will and staying true to your authentic self, i can navigate the challenges with grace and integrity. An I have to Remember to remove the blinders that society puts on us, and instead, embrace the unique gifts and talents that God has given me . I have to steadfast in my faith, and let that shine through my art. In doing so, I will not only overcome the hurdles but also inspire others and make a lasting impact on the world around me .
