Meet Jordan Golembeski

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jordan Golembeski a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I’d say it comes from a mix of things, really. Growing up, my family went through some tough times, and it wasn’t always a life of abundance. We learned how to ride it out, adapt, and support each other. That’s how I learned to endure when things aren’t going your way. It wasn’t glamorous, but it taught me to get creative with the resources I had and always keep pushing forward.

There’s also passion for what you do. When you’re genuinely excited about something—whether it’s a new project, an idea, or a goal—it’s easier to keep going when the road gets bumpy. The desire for creativity and good design gives me that extra push. Honestly, I can’t imagine doing anything else, so when things don’t go as planned, I just pivot and keep moving.

And honestly, I’m a little stubborn too. When I get knocked down, I’m determined to get back up. I’ve made plenty of mistakes (way more than I’d care to admit), but those failures are the lessons that drive me. It’s all about learning from them and getting a little better every time. Every setback is just another chance to adjust and keep moving forward. Resilience is just built into the process—stumbles, mistakes, and all.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Absolutely!

I’m all about creativity and connection—whether it’s through design, crafting unique experiences, or helping others bring their ideas to life. One of the most exciting things I’ve been involved with is the Austin Ale Trail. It’s this craft beer passport that encourages people to explore the amazing brewery scene here in Austin. The most special part for me is how it connects people—not just to great beer, but to each other. It’s a way to bring people together, support local businesses, and create experiences that go beyond the tasty beverage. We’ve built this little community of ‘Ale Trailers’ who collect stamps at over 50 different breweries, and at the end of the season, we throw this big party to celebrate. It’s one of my favorite things because it’s about so much more than just a passport—it’s about the connections, the fun, and the memories people make along the way.

And beyond that, I also help run ATX Beer Party—a creative take on the beer scene in Austin. It’s not just about beer; it’s about celebrating the community and the people behind it. We host events like beer and food pairings, bike rides to different breweries, and even karaoke nights. It’s all about the conversations that happen when you’re sharing a beer with someone, and the creative experiences that come from bringing different people and passions together.

We’re just coming off of our first anniversary, and we’re already planning new events and ideas to keep things fresh and exciting. We hosted our 2nd Beer Party Week in November, which featured some of our favorite events from the past year, as well as some brand-new experiences—dog parties (because, hey, Austin loves dogs), film screenings, and more. It’s all about bringing the community together and giving people fun, unique things to do. We’re also working on a ‘Beer Prom’ coming this spring/summer.

If there’s one thing I want people to take away from everything I do, it’s that creativity and connection go hand in hand. Whether it’s through a passport, an event, or even just a simple conversation over a beer, it’s all about finding ways to bring people together and create something meaningful. And if you’re in Austin, keep an eye out for more from us—we’ve got some cool things in the works!

It’s not just about what I’m doing, though; I’m also passionate about helping others get their creative projects off the ground. Whether it’s consulting, collaborating, or just bouncing ideas around, I love bringing people’s visions to life. So if you’ve got an idea, let’s talk! Let’s make something awesome together.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, I’d say the three qualities or skills that were most impactful for me in my journey are curiosity, persistence, and authenticity.

Curiosity: I’ve always been someone who loves to learn, explore new ideas, and ask questions. My journey has been shaped by a willingness to dive into things I didn’t fully understand, whether that was design, technology, or even beer! Being curious allows you to see things from different perspectives and helps you connect the dots in ways others might miss. For anyone starting out, my advice is to never stop asking questions. Don’t assume you know everything—there’s always more to learn, and it’s the learning that will fuel your growth.

Persistence: I can’t stress this enough—nothing comes easy. There’s no such thing as an overnight success, and I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way. But persistence is what gets you through the tough times. When you hit roadblocks (and you will), it’s your ability to keep going, even when things aren’t working, that will make the difference. My advice? Keep at it, even if things seem slow. Progress isn’t always linear, but every step forward counts. The mistakes you make along the way are actually just stepping stones to success. It’s part of the process, so don’t be afraid to fail forward.

Authenticity: One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to stay true to yourself and your vision. The more authentic you are, the more people will connect with what you’re doing. Whether it’s in your work or in your personal brand, being genuine and transparent is key. For those starting out, don’t try to be something you’re not just to fit in. Embrace what makes you unique, because that’s what will set you apart in the long run. People can tell when you’re being real, and that’s what builds lasting connections—whether it’s with customers, collaborators, or your community.

So to anyone starting their journey: Be curious, stick with it, and stay true to yourself. The rest will follow. Keep learning, keep pushing, and don’t worry if it takes time. It’s all part of the process.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, absolutely! I’m always open to collaboration, whether it’s with individuals, businesses, or organizations that share a similar passion for creativity and community. I thrive when I’m working with others who bring fresh perspectives, new skills, and ideas to the table.

Creative People: Designers, artists, filmmakers, writers, and other creative thinkers. I love working with people who have a different skill set than mine, as it pushes me to think in new ways and expand my own creativity.

Craft Beer Fans & Brewers: Given my work with the Austin Ale Trail and ATX Beer Party, I’m always interested in partnering with breweries, beer brands, and others in the craft beer community to create events, experiences, or collaborations that bring people together in fun, unique ways.

Community: Whether you’re working in local events, social causes, or anything else that fosters connection and support, I’d love to work together to create shared experiences that strengthen the community. I believe there’s always something powerful about bringing people together through creative means.

Food & Lifestyle: I’m also interested in collaborations where we can connect people who enjoy other hobbies with the brewery scene. Events at breweries, food and beer pairings, or other creative ways to connect those worlds.

If you’re someone who’s passionate about what you do and want to collaborate on something unique—whether it’s creating a fun event, brainstorming ideas, or working on a joint project—let’s talk!
