Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jordan Levine. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Jordan, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
Growing up with a single parent on a horse farm, my dad never got a day off. Bad weather? still outside working. Sick? Someone still has to tend to the land and feed the animals. I knew that I wanted to be my own boss one day.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I own and operate Tipped in Tampa. We are a nail salon in the heart of Tampa. My team and I specialize in healthy nail care. We educate you along the process of getting your nails manicured. We are not your average or typical salon. Every service is done by appointment only so that we can spend as much time as we need to make sure our work is perfect.
We use only plant based products during your pedicure. We don’t believe in harsh chemicals to get the job done.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
qualities that have helped me get to where I’m at today would be my willingness to learn new skills and my hunger to continue to learn . Continuing education is huge for the nail industry as everyday new techniques and products are released.
I’ve always wanted to be my own boss. I’ve seen others struggle with the issues of not liking their jobs but being stuck because they have no education or options to go anywhere else.
I consider myself super strong minded Al wake’s determined to become a better person, mother, and business owner.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I try to think positive remind myself that I’m a boss chick and I’ve got a daughter looking up to me. I think about my family and how I want to make them proud. I will usually take a day off and go to the beach or stay at home and try to recharge my mind. I also like to reach out to other business owners and talk to them. There’s so much that we can learn by being open and talking with others.
