Meet Jordan Neman

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jordan Neman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jordan below.

Jordan, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

We were doing interior design as side hobby and realized that furniture at an affordable price point was all coming form the main manufacturers overseas. We wanted to bring new designs to the market and once we began, it became very clear to us that this was our purpose.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

What’s special about House of Leon is that all our pieces are designed in house and focus on being timeless and unique in the market. We aim to use high quality materials such as solid woods and fabrics, combined with a small team with little overhead to keep the cost down.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

While being creative is incredibly important, being organized is #1. Taking the thoughts and ideas in your head and being able to execute them are two very different things. It’s often that the Type A personality is able to achieve much more than the creative mind.
My advise would be to organize the random ideas and photos you have on your computer. Categorize and file everything away for reference later.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

Our dad instilled a sense of business in us in our teens years while our mother always fostered creativity and childlike wonder in the way we viewed things.
