Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jordan Okan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Jordan, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
It would have to start from when I was a kid probably around 10-11 years old. Up until then my life was just what you’d imagine someone that grows up in a small town in Minnesota would live. Loving family, going to school, playing with friends and neighborhood kids. Until then I didn’t really have any sort of adversity to face. But as happens to the majority of marriages in America these days my parents got a divorce. So the split of them is really what changed everything for me growing up. We moved 1-2 times a year. My sister and I would spend weeks at one place and weekends in another just carrying back and forth the material things we enjoyed throughout our upbringing. Both of my parents would find themselves with abusive partners both in their own ways nothing like we ever got beat or molested or anything but other forms of abuse. So to say trying to really carve out who I wanted to be in that type of environment wasn’t perfect to say the least but I wouldn’t change it or have it any other way. The person i’ve become today is someone i’m proud of. I’ve chosen to learner from the mistakes i’ve seen from elders growing up because that’s what I seemed to have an abundance of during those years of my life. With that being the mindset I’d adopted it made for lots of learning what not to do after in life but not a lot of great examples to pull from. So after graduating high school I had to find my own examples. I followed my friends to a college about 3 hours away from home. I was out on my own for the first time ever. Didn’t know what to expect

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Currently my focus is on accomplishing a few personal goals and building a personal brand online that can maybe bring people to a place where they think critically about their own lives and the environment around them.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I think 3 very impactful skills that everyone should develop in their lives are the ability to communicate with people in an effective and logical way. The next would be learning to harness the power of influence and lastly the ability to lead/stand out or make yourself unique in some way shape or form.
People in the early stages of developing these skillsets need to understand that all of them will never be perfected and can always use improvement or refining no matter how advanced it gets and that fact can either be daunting or encouraging it’s up to the individual

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I would absolutely love the opportunity to collaborate with people that are interested and or have already created strong online personal brands and how they go about it exactly and share anything I can with them
