We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jose Luis Osorio a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jose Luis, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
What helped me from overcoming imposter syndrome is knowing that I’m still learning to improve my art, celebrating the little wins I get and reflecting the challenges I faced to be where I am today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a photographer, videographer, and content creator. Ever since I switched my focus to documenting and capturing my everyday life and sharing what I do/what I like, it made creating content fun for me because I get to share my interests!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I feel like the three most important qualities, skills, and/or areas of knowledge are collaborating with other creators, picking up a hobby, and taking your breaks! Trust me because without those three I would have burnt out with my passion of capturing and documenting with my camera.
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
Even though I did mention that I like documenting and capturing my everyday life with my camera. It’s easier when taking stills, but I get so overwhelmed when it’s time to record. I want to record videos and post almost daily or 4 times a week, but I get so overwhelmed. I have lots of videos that I’ve recorded, but none have been worked on to share with the public. I definitely have to work on that! As well, updating my website with new content.
