Meet Jose Perez

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jose Perez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Jose with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

My mom passed away when I was 9, my father abandoned me when I was in the 6th grade. I was living with him & his gf. One day I woke up and him & all his stuff was gone. I never had my aunts & uncle to do anything for me, I really just never had a hand out or a helping hand growing up. If anything I was the helping hand. I started young saling candy bars, working at discount stores, giving my grandma what I could to help out. I had 3 kids by the age of 21, but having my kids is what really pushed me to who I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a Artist, my stage name is J. PE$O. I love writing & performing my music. I also have a clothing brand called PE$OGEAR that I started in 2010. Recently I had two brand offers, one is having my own Flavored Agua Fresca. That brand is called Aguas Menonita & my Flavor is Strawberry Raspberry Lime, which we call it Agua De PE$O. The second brand deal is with a Beef Jerky called Paulies Jerky/carne de PE$O flavor is flama limone tarioky. I will also be opening up for Baby Bash Oct 24 in my home town Amarillo Texas. I also started a Podcast called Walking to the Moon with the Trill Amigos. I love interviewing people & telling their story on my platform

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I believe my best qualities are being a Loving person, being a driven person & not being afraid to go out & Hustle/Grind for what I believe or am promoting. My advice to people who are on a similar journey is, be consistent, in consistency you’ll learn how to improve every time you do the next project/move. Be Loving God is always going to bless those who show Love to people & move with your heart. Cause you gotta love what you do. Last is not to let the negativity of those around you or those on social media discourage you. Keep pushing Pray on it then move on it. God gots you

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

My wife has to be the most help for she is my partner in life. Having a good hard working woman is one of the best things that has ever happened to me she keeps me grounded & always keeps me in line. I was diagnosed with stage four testicular cancer 2022 & a week later I had a biopsy that left me paralyzed for a year, there was days she literally had to carry me. She stayed by my side through it all. She kept our family a float through these tragic times.
