Hi Jose, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?

It all starts with the mental part of starting my day. I stick to the fundamentals, sleep and water or so underrated. I fast and continue to challenge myself physically and mentally as I get older. Eating clean, working out with weights and cardio and crucial in my day to day.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’ve been a working actor for almost 18 years now, almost 28 years in the business overall. It’s been a roller coaster ride to say the least but I’m consistently reminded why I love acting so much.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

My passion for what I do is the difference maker. I’m a doer, not a talker. I’m a leader and I fully understand that I’m the only one watching my own back when it comes down to it. The best advice I could give is, do not worry about what you have no control over. Easier said than done on many occasions but it’s extremely accurate.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

I’ve been extremely fortunate to have such supportive parents. My mother is the reason why I actually went ahead and followed through and took that first acting class.
