Meet Joseph Fagarazzi

We recently connected with Joseph Fagarazzi and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Joseph , thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

From my early childhood to my young adulthood days, I was often reminded by my father of his rejections and telling me that from the day I was being born I was to him his biggest mistake that ruined his adolescence years. My mother was 17 years of age when she conceived me and my father was 20 years old and understood I had always remained a thorn in his side.
I grew up with a disturbed narcissistic aggressive manipulating womanizing father, I was physically, and mentally abused by him, and as I grew up it had a detrimental everlasting emotional mental affect on me.
Being told that I would never achieve anything in life and that I was too stupid had an immense impact in me, and it triggered a psychological effect during my early years; loss of self- esteem, anxiety, and a depressed state of mind which caused me to have suicidal tendencies.
Eventually I had to learn to start liking who I was as well as gaining some self-believe by proving to myself that I was not the “NO-hopper that my father thought I was.
I learned not to forget the past but instead ,learn from it by moving forward
I also learned that carrying grudges and hate that lingers into the future will only hurt your-self ad no one else.
I persisted to follow my dreams by leaving my old baggage and Demons behind ,not giving up on my dreams and overcoming my challenges and thus proving to myself that I am an achiever. and not as my father perceived me to be……from a “NO-HOPPER”, TO “NOW A MULTI MILLIONAIRE”!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

On the 7th of September 2025 I will be turning 74 and happy to say that I have been happily married with my darling wife Pam for 48 years. We met in England at the time in 1975 and two years later,in 1977 we married at the Padding Registry office London and emigrated the following year to Australia in 1978.
In 1985 my wife Pam and I Opened our first men’s apparel store that eventuated with the opening a total of 3 stores.
Whilst operating the stores I had also ventured as a unit developer, and retained 4 properties as investments for my retirement.
As a self published and a multi award winning author of “Escaping My Demons” I am also a self taught artist and can certainly say that I am enjoying my time of retirement by writing and painting.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

My career has spanned various fields and the diverse experiences shaped my perspective how I lead my life.
I gained knowledge by igniting an everlasting flame and kept it burning within to succeed.
My will power and determination to survive has always been my strength and if you have a dream you need to persist and never give up.
I believe that hardship bestowed on you can only make you stronger and more determined than ever, my description of failure is not measured by not achieving ,I would describe that failure is by not trying.
One word of advise I would give is that if success come knocking at your door, don’t let your ego take over, show respect and empathy, and if you can try helping those worse off than you do not hesitate to do so.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

The most pivotal part of overcoming challenges was by having the support of my wife Pam! Her belief in me ,and as well as the support that she has always shown ,has been of crucial importance to me, gaining confidence and self-belief.
Her pivotal role during our ups and downs through the years gave me the strength that I needed at that time to face the challenges that came our way. By moving forward I managed to accomplishing things in my life I had never thought possible that I could.
