Meet Joseph Klos

We were lucky to catch up with Joseph Klos recently and have shared our conversation below.

Joseph, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

I like to keep my creativity alive by constantly writing and jotting down ideas. I like to give myself goals to be completed by a certain date and time. So every night I sit in front of my laptop and type up a few pages I set for the night.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I grew up obsessed with television and movies and always wanted to be on screen. As I got older I started to realize I got more joy of of creating and writing scripts and me and my wife ended up creating our production company, Klos Productions.
I think the most exciting about creating these ideas and stories is seeing it play out on screen like my television pilot “Refresh”. Seeing the actors bring my words to life was a surreal experience and very exciting. And now with it being available on Amazon. I would have never thought it was a possibility.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think the most impactful skill in my journey was having the ability to make the story flow and make sense without it getting boring. Coming up with interesting characters is my first step before I even write out my script. It all needs to make sense.

To my advice to people that are just starting this type of journey out. Just stick it out. There will be times when it feels impossible and hard. Times where you’ll want to quit. But trust me. Once you push past those moments. The end result is worth it.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

We are always looking for creators to collaborate with. We like to take your idea from your mind to our screens. A bad idea is a quiet idea as I always say.
