We recently connected with Joseph Pacheco and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Joseph, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
A job can feed a man, but I think it’s better you teach a man to hunt and fish. Then he can bring food back to his family for a lifetime and teach the generations to come that same skill as a hunter. It’s Definitely a blessing when you can find your purpose! We all have a purpose in life. First We have to experience the painful process to build ourselves up. From day to day life struggles to even losing everything we worked hard for in life. Then we can really find ourselves and our purpose here in the world. Matthew 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
This verse means a lot to me because I had to lose myself and lose what I worked for. Knowledge will puff you up and I was hardheaded with a big ego and pride. I really had to struggle to find myself. That was the test and the best way to describe finding my purpose! I’m here to serve and help others grow, understand, and achieve!
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m blessed to be here with the knowledge I’ve learned! I’ve been homeless for over eight years! But five of those years, I did it by choice. I’ve been to jail three times and knew I had to change my lifestyle for the good. I always had a job and worked 9 to 5 jobs. I just wanted to think smarter for a better life. Since I grew up in a poverty non educational area. I wanted to beat the odds. I jumped from house to house staying with friends. I slept in my car and at the park taking baths in fast food restaurants and inside department stores. I struggled and saved any type of money I got from working a 9 to 5 job! I was rapping and explaining what I did in my song called title: broke for two days! I was making about 20k a year at the time and did the math 20 x 5 years is 100k so I created this idea and went for it. I wanted to sacrifice everything now while I’m young to invest into my future and my dream. I’ve been writing
music and recording records since 2005.
I really immersed myself into hip-hop culture in 2001 shortly after I found my dad dead in his apartment at age 12.
That was when I began to write short stories and poetry about my Life and the things I would see growing up in my neighborhood. My career got interesting in the winter of 2013 I moved to Santa Fe, NM in search of a better life and opportunities after leaving Albuquerque, NM from my past negative lifestyle I was looking for change. Along the way I met actress and music producer Sheryl Roberts. Roberts owned a full acting and recording studio in Santa Fe. I was homeless but determined to reach my goals. Music was a way out I figured, So Roberts offered me free studio time to record my projects. In return all she asked from me was a small donation to her nonprofit and community volunteering when I could. So I began to work with her for the next year and a half while taking vocal lessons and acting classes. I got to record music at her studio. In 2014 No Feelinz my name gained the likes of Grammy producer ke on tha track while still being homeless fighting poverty dealing with quitting music all together the opportunity to work with ke did not go through. Until Summer of 2015 No Feelinz had his chance to collaborate on a single song with major recording artist rapper who Mike Jones. In spring of 2016 No Feelinz and Mike jones performed their song on stage at the reloaded music tour. Now after leaving Robert’s studio with the knowledge and having the chance to work and perform next to a big act. I was in search of new music career opportunities. That’s when I met Dennis Javier Jasso a Latino music producer well known in Mexico and Puerto Rico. I started recording and working with Dennis in his studio from 2016 to the winter of 2018. I learned how to produce my own music, audio engineering, marketing, rental property management and the basics of Latino music and culture. No Feelinz and Dennis Javier Jasso would go on to be nominated 4 times in a row from
16 – 19 for best hip-hop songs in the state at the NM music awards.
Entrepreneur, rapper, music writer, Recording artist, and multi business owner and multi-investor.
Working in the music industry is always
exciting. You’re always working on something new besides that you’re creating music for people to listen to and enjoy. It’s Super exciting and awesome when people say your song helped them in a tough time or when they see you, they start singing a song they liked from you. Music is really special to me; it saved my life. People ask me how it saved your life. I tell them it kept me out of trouble, and I got to travel the country and explore different states.
I’ve learned so much because of music.
Taxes, budgets, teamwork, business, finances, investments, fitness, real estate, responsibilities, and etc. The list can go on. Music for me was the basics and the base structure of life then I started growing, applying what I’ve learned from the music business to different areas I wanted to adventure in.
Right now, I’ve been busy working on my real estate projects and technology.
I’m always dropping new music when I feel like talking to people. Tune in to my website nofeelinz.com for updates
I offer life coaching along with health, fitness and investing. I produce for other artists and offer Music Consulting from what I’ve learned in the industry.
I’m still writing songs! Traveling, networking, and building global relationships around the world. My main focus is to create opportunities for others, not just myself to grow and achieve their dreams!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
As I look back now Skills and knowledge are something you learn and get trained up for. I always had a willingness to learn as a student. I’m still crazy enough to chase a dream and lose everything if It dont work out. Straight go getter I got a song about that too. I was homeless for so long I think it helped me build up the skills to survive and want more out of life. I was lucky enough to get the chance to collaborate and work inside some of the world’s most famous studios. Alongside some talented amazing music artists throughout the years. I’ve also met so many amazing individuals who took a risk on me and gave me a chance. I got to learn so much from them as well.
My advice
1.Take risks and set goals
2. Never be afraid of failure forget what people think or say about you
3.Stay positive good attitude and motivated to reach a goal
I didn’t have any support or anyone clapping for me. All I had was my faith, my belief, and my willingness to reach a goal. Some of you are in the same position as me. Just know if I did it you can too. If you build it the right people will come and help you finish building your dream. Here is the road map for y’all to follow now
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
I use to hate reading but on my journey for wisdom and knowledge I feel in love with reading here is some books I liked and what has helped me on the journey The most important and favorable was the KJV bible so much wisdom I’ve learned the bible differently i needed for my healing, motivation, and understanding. Once I read Amos 3:3 I had to cut people off in my life because we are not on the same page.
Amos: 3:3
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
Ezekiel 18:21
But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die
Ecclesiasticus 25:16
“I had rather dwell with a lion and a dragon, than to keep house with a wicked woman.”
