We were lucky to catch up with Josh DiChiara recently and have shared our conversation below.
Josh, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Confidence and self-esteem didn’t come easy for me. They were built slowly through years of learning, failing, and figuring out who I really am. When I first started creating content, I wasn’t confident at all. I’d record fake videos in my bedroom just to practice speaking on camera, then replay them and take mental notes on what felt awkward or unnatural. I wasn’t chasing fame or perfection back then; I was just trying to get comfortable in my own skin.
Those early moments taught me a lot. I realized confidence isn’t something you wake up with one day. It’s something you build through repetition, patience, and honesty. The more I practiced, the more I stopped trying to sound like other creators and started sounding like myself. Somewhere along the way, I stopped performing and started connecting.
But what really helped me grow wasn’t just practice. It was perspective. I started grounding myself in gratitude, reminding myself that my worth doesn’t depend on likes, views, or validation from others. My sense of confidence became more about purpose than performance. I found peace in trusting that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, and that even when things don’t go the way I planned, they’re still working out for something bigger than me.
Over time, I learned to see confidence not as being loud or fearless, but as being steady. Showing up even when you’re unsure, believing you belong even when doubt creeps in. That kind of quiet confidence took time, but it’s what allows me to show up authentically today, both on camera and off.
Now when I hit record, I don’t try to impress anyone. I just try to connect, to share a piece of myself that might make someone smile, feel seen, or be inspired to chase what they love too. My confidence comes from knowing I’m walking in alignment with who I was meant to be, and that’s something no algorithm or audience size can define.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My work centers around storytelling, the kind that feels real, immersive, and connects with people on a personal level. I focus on theme parks, travel, food, and film, but what really drives me is authenticity. People don’t just want to see something; they want to feel like they’re part of the experience. That’s the heart behind everything I do.
What’s really exciting for me right now are the new creative paths I’m exploring with Cinematically Josh and Frame Rate with Josh. Cinematically Josh is a second account I started to share my love of film, pop culture, and all the small details that make stories memorable. It’s a space where I can explore movies, shows, and everything in between in a way that feels personal and fun. Frame Rate with Josh takes a more structured approach, reviewing films and TV shows on a detailed 1-10 scale, breaking down story, characters, visuals, sound, and rewatchability. Both projects let me dive deeper into my passion for storytelling while giving my audience fresh, thoughtful, and entertaining content.
These projects represent the next stage of my creative journey. They are about exploring what inspires me, experimenting with new ways to engage audiences, and sharing experiences that are cinematic, meaningful, and fun. Right now, my focus is on growing these platforms, creating content that resonates, and bringing people along on these exciting new journeys. At the core, it’s all about connection, helping people feel like they’re part of the story while sharing honest perspectives they can trust

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, there are three things that have been most impactful in my journey as a content creator. The first is consistency. Early on, it would have been easy to give up after a few videos that didn’t perform well or after feeling awkward on camera. But showing up every day, even when it felt uncomfortable, made all the difference. Content creation, like any craft, rewards practice and persistence.
The second is authenticity. I learned early that trying to imitate someone else or chase trends never felt right and didn’t connect with people in the way I wanted. The work that resonates the most is the work that reflects who I am, my voice, and my perspective. Learning to embrace my quirks, my sense of humor, and my genuine opinions has been transformative.
The third is curiosity and willingness to learn. I’ve always tried to explore new ideas and challenge myself creatively. Diving into projects like Frame Rate with Josh or experimenting with different video styles taught me that growth happens when you stay open, try new things, and don’t let fear of failure hold you back. Being curious pushed me to improve my skills and find new ways to connect with my audience.
For anyone early in their journey, my advice would be to focus on building these same qualities. Show up consistently, even if it’s just small steps at first. Don’t be afraid to be yourself. The things that feel “too much” or different are often what make you stand out. And stay curious. Learn from every experience, try new approaches, and let your passion guide you.
The combination of persistence, authenticity, and curiosity has shaped not just my career, but also how I approach challenges, opportunities, and creativity in general. If you nurture these qualities, you’ll build a foundation that allows you to grow with confidence and purpose, no matter where your journey takes you.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
The most helpful force in helping me overcome challenges and build the skills I needed has been my faith. I’ve learned that growth doesn’t happen in isolation, and leaning on my relationship with God has given me strength, guidance, and perspective when things felt impossible. In moments of doubt, insecurity, or uncertainty about my path, taking a step back to pray, reflect, or just listen has helped me stay grounded and keep moving forward.
Alongside my faith, I’ve been blessed with mentors, friends, and family who offered encouragement, honest feedback, and support when I needed it most. But it’s the quiet moments of trusting that I’m being guided for a purpose bigger than myself that have shaped how I approach challenges. That perspective has allowed me to take risks, learn from mistakes, and keep growing both personally and professionally.
Ultimately, faith has taught me that confidence and success aren’t about doing everything perfectly on my own. They come from showing up, putting in the work, and trusting that I’m being equipped for the journey. That combination of faith, guidance from others, and personal effort has been the foundation for everything I’ve achieved so far.
