Meet Josh Saleh

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Josh Saleh a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Josh, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

My optimism comes from loss. I lost my father when I was seven, and was raised by an incredibly strong, hard-working mother. Through that experience, I learned that life is fragile and unpredictable—and that what we choose to do with it is entirely up to us.

Watching my mother raise me on her own showed me what resilience, persistence, and strength truly look like. She never wavered, and her example taught me that even in hardship, there are lessons and opportunities to grow.

I stay optimistic because I know life can always be harder, and choosing to see the silver linings is how I move forward. To me, positivity and hope aren’t just traits—they’re a mindset I intentionally choose every day.

I’m deeply grateful for the life I’ve been given and the one I’ve worked hard to build. The loss I experienced at a young age reminds me that every day is an opportunity to grow, to improve, and to never take life for granted.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m fortunate to have many jobs, and I genuinely love all of them.

I work as a TV Host for Disney and Marvel, where I host red carpet premieres and interview the cast and crew of some of the biggest Marvel films. I also host for Amazon, where I lead my own show highlighting products in tech and gaming.

In 2024, I created a party card game called Change My Mind, which just received a nomination for Party Game of the Year in 2025. It’s a debate and ranking game designed to spark fun, chaotic conversations—and in just 15 months, it’s sold over 8,000 copies and continues to grow.

Alongside that, I’m an Ambassador Program Manager for an adult summer camp, where I get to design and lead meaningful events and experiences throughout the year.

What ties all of this together is my passion for games, storytelling, and community. I started out as an actor, but transitioning into hosting has been one of the best decisions of my life. It allows me to be myself, connect with incredible people, and share experiences that bring joy.

My ultimate goal is to become a game show host. I grew up watching The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune, and that role perfectly blends my love for hosting and gaming. Being able to entertain, connect, and create memorable experiences—that’s the dream I’m chasing.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Never Giving Up – There have been many moments in my life where I’ve wanted to stop, reassess, or pivot. Challenges come in all forms, but I have a strong will to keep moving forward. I truly believe that, more often than not, the only person holding us back is ourselves. Pushing past obstacles has shaped who I am.

Respect, Compassion & Empathy – I lead with the mindset of assuming positive intent. Respect, compassion, and empathy are at the center of how I connect with others. You never know what someone may be going through, so I choose to approach people with kindness and understanding. Life is already hard enough—I never want to make it harder.

Self-Awareness – I value knowing when to speak up and when to listen. Being able to read a room, read myself, and know when to turn it on is a skill I’ve worked hard to cultivate. Self-awareness allows me to show up authentically while also creating space for others to do the same.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

The entertainment and board game industries are going through a really difficult time right now. In entertainment, we’re seeing widespread layoffs, and I’ve watched friends and colleagues lose their jobs. In board gaming, tariffs have made it even harder, forcing some companies to downsize or close entirely. It’s a turbulent and uncertain moment, and it can feel overwhelming.

What helps me is focusing on what I can control. I try to take things one day at a time, stay present, and put my energy into the work and opportunities in front of me. Compartmentalizing challenges allows me to keep moving forward instead of being paralyzed by what’s outside my control. Therapy has also been a big part of that—helping me process the uncertainty while still staying grounded and resilient.
